I think there is a button you gotta hold for that and be really close to target. Check the controls in options.

I can only manual aim too, or so it seems. Im not sure why... maybe im doing something wrong? nothing about it in the control options.

Read a few reviews and came across answers to my aim lock questions...

So i plugged in my dual analog and the auto aim works fine for gamepads only. the mouse aim is far better in my opinion anyway. quicker kills.
