The game changes later on, the whole gangsta shit is basicly only the beginning of the game, the first town, after that CJ grows a brain.
I must say, I enjoyed this on the ps2 a lot more, no idea why, because vice city and gta3 was way more fun on the pc than on the ps2, but I just cant get myself to like this on the pc, I find it incredible booring on the pc to be honest, strange as hell :/
It sucks too since I was looking forward to the MUCH improved viewdistance :/

If some guy saying "nigger" a few times bothers you then turn the sound down or something. I hate the theme of the game as much as the next guy but it's nothing to get upset about.

PS2 version got better reviews on gamespot 9.6. PC version only got 9.0.
I have this for the PS2 the sound is alot better for the PS2. I dont know I think Rockstar worked on getting only the graphics to be better, cause it seems like they forgot to add some of the things that made the PS2 version so good, like sound effects and such.
PS2 version is better, The game looks better on the PC obviously, but thats about it.
This PC version was not worth the 6 month wait. Most PS2 user's who dont have this for the PC are missing out on nothing at all. If you already have it for the PS2 stick with that. I was expecting it to be alot better then the PS2 version but its not.

came to rant how boring the game felt and looks like its just not me, cant see me playing this for too long, ok so whats next, BF2, well, bring it on my man, BTW ppl who have it on the PS2 strike it off ur must buy list.

It doesn't bother me at all (the word in itself). What bothers me is the fact that ALL they use is two or three of the same words over, and over, and over. It just gets old fast. I realize they are trying to mimick the "ghetto" type dialogue, but they just overuse the stuff, thats all.

Same here. Although I never played any version on the consoles, I greatly enjoyed both GTA 3 and GTA VC on the PC. The controls didn't bother me either. At least not to the point of annoyance. I really tried to like this one as well...
I guess I'll just play with my control mappings, and give this one another go, albeit with a different mindset. Guess I have to accept the fact that console players are used to this bullshit, and try to rewire my thinking (if only for this title), to that. It seems like I'm missing out on alot, and you kinda helped reassured me that the stuff does get better so, Ill guess Ill reinstall and grit my teeth.
However, that still doesn't change the fact that reviewers treat this as if it was the second coming of christ...its not THAT great.

Gamespot mentioned exactly that problem in their review, but I can not speak for my slef, yet As I am buying the game this Friday, I live in EU so we have to wait a little.

There are some probs with the audio. Can become very hard to hear what the main characters are saying during cut scenes at times, and I have to get all up on my speakers to hear.
I don't find the game overly difficult. Course if you go toe to toe with 5 dudes with guns, you are probably gonna get smoked. But if when approaching an objective point you get just close enough to activate it, you can head shot guys and they go down in one hit for the most part. I haven't left the first city yet so if you are speaking of later on then I haven't experienced that yet.
Something that really bothers me is peoples hands. WTF they look like big ass hams or something. I'm running everything maxxed out at 1600x1200 just some seriously low polys on pedestrians.
What are people talking about auto target? I have no auto target, I thought it was all manual targetting. I see no way in the controls to auto target. If this is possible, please speak up and say how to do it.
Overall, I like the game, but it hasn't kept me glued to my computer since I purchased it. Finished maybe 15 missions or so. I'll be playing through it though.

after playing it for a couple of hours, the controls scheme ain't that bad, targeting was just a bitch to go around since of the new "look around" mouse thingy.

When i get into a car and i am going to drive off the camera kees on spinning around my car wtf can i do about this because this isnt playable at all:(
