You're right. They also removed stats so it's even less of a RPG now.

Yeah. lol wut I still remember how much better it was to manage the eco-balance and energy consumption in 1404. Also liked the medieval design of the arks better, now they are all futuristic, none of that good old rustic look. I also don't like how they nerfed the underwater colonies, now they are much less useful. Not to mention these flying units, the old ones were much better in combat. I also think research was handled better in 1404. lol wut

How do you play against / with other AI players who develop cities? I'm on a continuous game but the only AI present is some oil guy and a few pirates, no one else is colonizing land.

when adding players, watch who is described as "will expand to other islands" or something like that.

Build more houses Smile

You cant have a city entirely of engineers for example.. you need all 3.. so you need to build more houses so more workers can move in etc

Raise population? Just like with previous Anno games, it's all about the economic balance with industry. You have to be careful on how you expand your production. For example, no point in having 4 tea growers if only one is needed to support your population.

This game has a lot more complexity than anno 1404. Basically now there is a 3rd faction to tech and build up with along with underwater settlements. Energy production needed to power pretty much everything which makes things even more costly.

Base strategy is to always have base minimum and expand accordingly. Otherwise you'll be in the negative =]

Guys, please help me out. I`m stuck on mission 2-2 where I have introduced tech workers. How do I change to underwater view? default key "/" is assigned, but when I press it, my screen get splash like I just submerged and I cant go underwater. I already have enough tech houses. I read in other forums that I need at least one submarine, is it true?

Didn't you get a sub when the tech faction joined you? It's on the surface and has four slots for goods. It also has a button to submerge. And i can access underwater just by zooming in (mousewheel)

The biggest drain will always be building maintenance, so like dethy said, don't make too many. Always rationalize. Also put goods up for trade (in the warehouse) if you have a surplus. For some extra $ put taxes on the yellow (if you don't plan to upgrade your population) and choose the money channel in the ministry of truth/info center.

I love that you can now click&drag houses. No more building one by one. Very Happy

Two questions:

1) How to put items for trade in my Warehouse? I though we had only two options for trade: manual transport and sale or trading routes.
2) Is there a keyboard key to press for selecting goods in quantity of 1 instead of chaning it on Warehouse interface?

1. click on trade next to goods/items in the warehouse. Seems you can't set the price anymore like in 1404 though, all prices are fixed.
2. no idea

Equip the item on the ship's equipment slot and after using it, just left click on the target.

you can still set the price, click the cent sign in the top right red corner of the warehouse while in trade tab..it switches to the price slider.
