Is taking down others now reduced to just pew-pew combat?
I miss the 1404 information building, or whatever it was called. where you could plant spies, reduce their productivity, sabotage buildings. etc. Break them down slowly from the inside.

now its just a realllly slow RTS for combat. Sad
why they remove the ability to take down other islands with cloak and dagger type options, without building a single ship if you wanted to put the work into it? I have no idea.

Yea I was disappointed by it after looking for 40 minutes to find out how to do it..realizing it was gone.
that was 1/2 my fun in the game. Its still a 'fun' game. But its taken away the 'underdog" option. if your loosing to combat, your screwed now. no way to use tactics and cunning to help you bring them down. its "most ships win" race Sad

Finally finished my Eco monument. The cities in this game are just mindblowing, they look too good.

Also just managed to set up an island full of Techies. My god there's so much research to do.

And man, this game has such a great soundtrack.

Just had my very own BP oil disaster. Oil spilled from one of my rigs and killed the fish production in my city and the ecos started rioting. Had to scramble to research clean up measures to get it under control. Fucking awesome. Wonder what happens when a nuclear plant goes boom.

I must say the campaign mode is becoming more interesting little by little; the undersea missions are NEW in this kind of game. I am not a fan of micromanagement, but a little bit wouldn't hurt anyway.

lol wut

This is not a micromanagement game.
Quote:
There is sometimes confusion regarding the difference between micromanagement and macromanagement, normally abbreviated as 'micro' and 'macro' respectively. Macro generally refers to managing large quantities of tasks at the same time. For example, building units from various structures throughout the game while also building more structures, scouting, creating new bases, etc. This is different from micro, which is generally controlling small amounts of units and giving them very specific orders.

I still cannot go to underwater. it`s mission 2.1 where I need to choose to be an eco or industrian. I need to constract underwater buildings but when I try to zoom in, max zoom is at the water. Even with key" /" the water splashes but screen stops at water level.
Restarted mission - the same.. Anyone has something similar?

Don't remember that mission specifically but many functions unlock only once the mission allows it. Just keep playing, it will unlock eventually.

You can't go underwater until you unlock the Tech faction.

But it's weird. If I remember correctly, you don't get the water splash effect unless the game's supposed to transition to the undersea layer.

Might indeed be a bug.

Nah, you get the splash effect even when you are on an island and press the underwater button. The splash happens, but you stay on the island, you just zoom all the way in.
Once you get the submarsible unit, you will be able to go underwater, not before!!! Just click the submerge button on open sea (not to close to an island) and you'll go underwater with it, after that you just scroll in on open sea, and you submerge.

could it be related to your mouse ? Sometimes it happens here too with the wheel.
If so, what I do is to select the submarine, to make it appear again at the surface and then to let it submerge again, all is back to normal then. Give it a try.

...BTW, don't ask a woman to be logic, lol.
