SecuROM can be mostly uninstalled but I guess it would leave the license files behind as to avoid wasting potential activations, it also embeds itself in the registry and user folder with it's own service or was it device?
Anyway it only really activates when you start the game but you can't really remove it outside of the SecuROM utilities.
(Usually by running any SecuROM exe file with a command line argument, deleting the files, services and reg info won't work outside of special tools due to the weird character names used and I think there was something else.)
Still it's rather harmless and unnoticeable most of the time, earlier versions were more aggressive but the same goes for Tages and LIVE too I imagine.
(And now Origin, Impulse and Steam are using their own solutions, I don't tend to think on it much but it would be nice if the exe files could be self-contained with only the basics stored on the system.)

I downloaded the patch and installed it where I have the game ...\common\batman2, but the game just crashes when I start it. Anyone has any idea when it will be available through Steam ?

hey,
i have the FiGHTCLUB ver,
the game works fine but i can't save
in nfo said "7. When Games For Windows Live pops up choose to create a local profile
the windows live wants imtternet and when i put my windows live details the game want's cd key.
how i create a local account so i could save in game?

Fucking Batman, every time I'm about to get a x30 combo he stops attacking and just stand there like an idiot attacking the air rather than the guy I'm aiming at. ><
And sometimes even though the guy is inch from him and about to attack rather than countering he pulls out a fucking gadget, yet will instantly counter a guy who's further away.

I reinstalled my OS and now I can't use my savegames. I'm using the Steam version and I copied my old savegames ( saved with Steam too ) but nothing. Every slot is empty. Stupid game.

Steam legit version? Doesn't the game have Steam Cloud support? Not sure.. But if it does the saves should be automatically downloaded.

If it's on Steam it uses Steam Could, maybe you messed something up or dunno...

This is a Live game, so could be that is what is causing issues. Did you login with the same Live account?

My saves disappeared when game got released here in europe ;< Played some time before release on VPN activation method.

Yep because before that game used only Live, and when game was officially released in your region game auto used Steam Cloud features. But still, might be some small connections with Live.

Yes, I only have one. Steam version saves in Steam\userdata\ and the Live only one saves in My Documents\WB Games. If I use the Live only version I can access my savegames, but I want to use Steam for a second playthrough with DX11. I played the game before it was released and finished it and then played about 2 hrs on Steam after it unlocked in my region. These Steam saves I'm trying to use again.

Hm, didn't know that.
I guess Microsoft really bent backwards to allow even the most bizarre combinations, just so developers use their shit.  In the game, there is even a button of "Steam store", but you can't buy the DLC from there. Still, I assume at some point you will be.

I made an offline GFWL profile and played for about 2hrs. Exited to the man menu and reloaded my save to check if its ok and it was fine. When I loaded the game up today and there is a no resume option, only start new game.
Has this happened to anyone else ?

I think I should have backed up the XLive folder too. I don't see another explanation.
@mug2k Save games have a tendency to disappear with the original too.
