You need to download the modded .EXE that's floating around on the net. Just search for "Saints row skidrow dlc disable" or something. This disables ALL the DLC though, not just the "unlock all areas" one that people hate.
Since I have never been able to get my game to save (see all the Vista x32 users' posts), I was wondering if a trainer would work. One trainer allows for saving locations. Is this the same thing as a save game?
I really really want to play this game...but without the ability to save...it's useless.
Can anyone give me some ideas?
FYI...I tried smart steam. Didn't work...kept making the normal steam run and ask that I buy the game.

Thats because just running SmartSteam doesnt magically let you play the game as if its bought, you need to put some files in the SR3 install dir to make it work via
SS.Afaik, they should be included in the "Coop-Fix" that floats around in the Tunngle-Community
First...thanks for the response. I have been posting on this board for nearly 2 weeks now without any response.
Second...not to be a pain...but can you private message or post detailed directions. I have never had a problem getting game to work. This one is driving me nuts. I never have used Steam or Smart Steam before. I only d/l Steam for this game. I don't know how to use either. When I run Smart Steam...it just opens up regular Steam. Is that correct?
I am going to d/l the multiplayer fix. If you could tell me what files I need and where to put them...I would be grateful.
Thanks again.
Nit
P.S. Please keep in mind that I can not copy over the entire Skidrow crack b/c it crashes my game. I was only able to get the game running by copying the exe files from the crack.
Even if it was 200 quid, comming here and "showing off" the hardware by mentioning it, then having a x1950 pro with THAT hardware combined makes you instant laughingstock.
€50,- gives you a 5x more powerfull card these days, that suits your current hardware better.
But now with that GPU you might aswell have a Q6600, because much difference aint there.

i get cannot create video file when i try to run it with direct x 10 or 11
if i run with direct x 9 it crashes
That's because the X1950 is neither a DX10 or DX11 capable card. As for DX9? The minimum requirement is of a 38xx series - so that could be why you're getting crashes in DX9, though I doubt it as while the 38xx is "minimum" it also states that SM3.0 is the minimum, something the X1950 supports natively.
This game is crazy and fun. But it takes quite a long time to roll.

The 1900 series (Or well 1000 series.) has pretty poor driver support and not that good SM 3.0 functionality perhaps also due to driver issues so it can behave a bit oddly as seen in numerous recent games, I'd say it's time to get a better GPU if the rest of the system is already updated.
(GT500 or AMD6000 is up to you, maybe something else entirely but both of these have a variety of affordable models though if it's for gaming I wouldn't go below 560 / 6800 if you're planning DX10+ and/or AA. )
EDIT: Anyway I finished the "Deckers" or well most of them I guess, pretty sure the main campaign is nearly over but I've had a lot of fun, barely ten hours played all in all so far but I'm still going to do those side activities which I've only started with (And only really progressed with the Genki one.) game is a bit more compacted and structured but it's still a lot of fun.
(Not very coherent at times but it works, of sorts.)
Just up to 10 hours, but not really done that many missions, I've been playing around destroying gang activities and the odd side mission (not many of those either).
I currently own every purchasable property in the game with a 35k per hour income and only 20% completion. Guessing money aint gunna be a worry
Working on getting the upgrades now. Hehe.
Some utterly nuts fun. My next aim is to find where I can steal a tank from.
Would I benefit from playing first two games? Ive never played them. Some say SR2 is best in the trilogy
