Let me get this straight, some of you actually want snow? If so WHY? Are you fecking mad?

Bad points:

Its cold.
Its slippery.
It stops everything that is essential for work,travel and general living (well it does here in the third world).
It stays around for ever looking like shit after a day.
It forces us to put the heating on, which in the U.K is a privilege for only the extremely wealthy due to the high fuel costs.
It forces us to go to bed at 7pm simply to keep warm, due to not being able to put the heating on Sad

Good points:
It looks pretty for a day
You can write your name in yellow (men only or very athletic women)

Sorry for the old man rant but the stuff is shit. Ok I suppose if you do not pay the bills or have to go to work,school,college whatever.

I do not understand what you mean by "Heating is not a standard"

Its simply because the government will not step in and force the fuel companies to curb thier prices, thereby forcing those who are not extremely wealthy to take desperate measures.
I know of a few retired couples who sleep all day and have their 'day' during the night, simply because gas/electricity is cheaper at night.

Real life lag indeed! Nøtterøy was bone dry all day, not so much as a snow flake, while it was snowing just a few miles away grinhurt We drove out to get the winter tyres fitted and it was like "No snow here. Whoa. Snow THERE!" hehe. Then it finally started to snow later that night, woke up just now to see a gorgeous winter land outside ^_^

Uhh, come on man.. I know costs are up in the UK, but you cannot expect me to believe you can't afford BASIC amenities and necessities like electricity and gas. I'm on incapacity benefit and I've never had an issue paying utility bills. We all like to gripe about how much electricity and gas is costing these days, but it surely can't be THAT bad.

I like snow but i don't like trying to ride my motorbike in slush and ice, not recomended.
But there saying there will be snow here soon, sure feels it.
Last few days the temps plummeted here in the uk, winter is now here bitches.
Time for the bursted pipes to start popping, never a good sign.

A centimetre or two? Hahaha, try a millimetre Very Happy It snowed for about 5 minutes, didn't hold, went away. Now it's blue skies and bright sun today, heh. I'm glad too - the longer it takes before the snows really start coming in, the better, we've got a house move in 3 weeks!

ffs my car battery is dying in this cold. Also, I was a bit late with changing the tires and seems like most of the country is in the same situation. Queues for tire change are quite long. Out of money for this month so I dont have money to pay for a new battery and tire change+balancing

I did once, in -10, had gotten a flat tyre. Had to sit on the street while jacking up the car and replace the wheel, with back bent and not wearing a winter coat. After that incident I lay on the couch for a week without being able to move... Lumbago.

I do it @ a friend who has a proper garage with hydraulic equipment and stuff these days.

ps. I don't have a garage of my own, not even an indoor parking space.
