Hey guys. to clear some of this confusion up, if you have 9 Marksmanship and are using a bow that requires 10, if that bow has damage of lets say 10-17, you will not get the max damage out of the bow, you will probably get like 5-7 instead. Basically you can use the item but it will not reach it's full potential.
Also, my name on GW is Sir Ian, im a level 20 elementalist/ranger. however, i'm already in a good guild that is VERY large and active and we have a cape and a guild hall(guild halls are UBER expensive; like 30k if you find someone selling a sigil), so i dont want to join your guild. HOWEVER, i would like you all to add me to your friends list and try and play with me if any of you are as far as me (I'm to Droknars Forge--probably get furhter tonight).

Not true anymore since they implemented the sigil changes. It might take a little while to cycle out the old prices but they wont be going for much soon.

BTW: i got to The Mines of Meladune or whatever tonight, there are i think 3 elite skills you can capture in it, its sweet.

yes, you can only get one in Lion's Arch, but you can buy as many as you want in Quarrel Falls. However, you can only EQUIP one elite skill at a time, so dont leave the elite spell on your bar if you plan on capturing another one.
And as for the proffesion question, i personally dont think Ranger is that good of a Primary prof, but a good secondary one. You want to choose a Primary with a good Primary-only attribute. for instance, i chose Elementalist, b/c not only are they capable of the most damage in one hit of any character (fact), the primary only attribute is Energy Storage, which can get you a LOT more energy to work with. also, a Warrior is always a good character to choose, they can heal themselves somewhat and are usually reffered to as tanks, because they can hold up well to damage, and have Strength, a somewhat good Primary only trait. Warrior is good as a primary proffession for a new player. elementalist takes a little more skill though, b/c they are one of the only characters unable to heal themselves at all (that is unless of course your secondary proffesion can). to get more info on each proffesion, i advise going to this website: http://guildwars.ogaming.com/
it has maps, info about skills, info about each proffesion, and also a very helpful list of where to find elite skills and which boss carries it, plus alot of other good info about GW.
