I know it is easy to say they based it on minecraft and perhaps they did but don't forget the novella I am Legend which is basically the same thing (retreating to a fortified house when the vampires come out at night).

a bit early to assume either way on that, looks obviously like the focus is going to be on building defenses even if they are just walls but... technical of a point as this is even minecraft needs somewhat decent combat.
i think honestly at this point, only one thing can be said for sure:
they're not planning to sell you just 1 copy, co-op is going to replace singleplayer in this i bet.

Looks like a survival-horror story based around surviving a "fortnight" against these creatures. How different will it be from all those flash-games? (the last stand etc etc)
1 and 2 are still amazing.

TF2 graphics meeting gameplay from the first night in Minecraft.
But to be completely honest, it mostly reminds me of a zombie mod for HL2/CSS, where you could barricade doors using things like fridges etc. It was pretty cool, but I don't have my hopes up for this one.
