Has anyone else noticed that the shadows in the game look like crap?

Im running the eVGA 6800 Ultra With the latest and official NVidia drivers. The shadows look terrible, it looks like "Big Block boxes" under Tanks and such. Even if I set shadows to low it's still there. I have to turn shadows off completely in order for it to go away. Sucks.

Anyone else with the same problems using a similar Nvidia Card or other Nvidia card? And BTW Im not the only one, someone else reported else where the same thing with the same card im using.

Other then that the game run's smooth and looks nice. It's just the shadows that look screwed up.

I get stuttering in this demo. I even put everything to medium details and I still get it. Shit is loading off of the hard drive I believe.

Anyones elses sound cutting in and out?

Had about 2 CTDs in 6 hours of play..but other than that (and the shadow issue)...it runs beautifully.
Dogfighting is fookin slick as hell Smile
Even piloting with mouse Im able to rack up those kills.
Heli's are a bit tricky to position for use with the hydras..but ill get the hang of it Smile

Just be glad that you actually can play a demo, now it's not much longer before the full game is there (but I agree, it's still many 12-minute battles Smile )!

After playing a few hrs of this, I think this is definatly an early candidate for GOTY. Its one of the best demos I have played in a long time.

Damn...
I 'only' have a GF3Ti200 64RAM, so no go for me.
IMO the game is not tweaked enough if the minimum req. are so high.
I know some people don't have a problem spending 500euros every 3 months or so to buy a new gfx card. But most people don't have the money to upgrade so many times. I do have the money, but I don't gonna buy a new gfx-card just for 1 game. 6 Months later there is another game which requires a 512MB card, so everyone buys one just for that game? No thx....

Anyway, it surely looks good, and what I hear it plays also very good and smooth.
But I don't trust EA anymore. I bought BF:Vietnam because the demo was also so great, but the game itself had a lack of updates and support. It's still a buggy game. Check the official forums before you buy the game guys.

I looked a bit around the official forum, and looks like my problem is not a x64 one, so I'll keep looking around.

x64 is for the AMD64 version of windows.

Anybody else who has problems with the serverlisting?
It's laggy as hell, and when I scroll it, it loads for 10 sec or so before scrolling.
