The guys playing are rather derps but the game seems fun (although the beginning is always the weakest part in these kind of games Razz)

I think any intro/introduction part in a game is a kind of preview of what to expect. If it's mediocre, you most certainly won't have some outstanding jaw-dropping game experience.

Yea there are exceptions, but they are rare.

I think one of the previews (I am uncertain though as it was a while ago.) mentioned this introduced the game world and such and then they've planned a MMO also set in the same world to expand upon the idea a bit or something like that, not 100% sure how it was but I remember the MMO part fairly well. Smile

EDIT: Copernicus, that was what it was.

Will there be a PC demo? A 360 demo is coming this month:

Quote:
Microsoft has unveiled that a demo for the Xbox 360 version of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will go live on January 2012. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is an open-world role-playing game set in Amalur, a mysterious and magical new fantasy world created by New York Times best-selling author R. A. Salvatore. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is a single-player RPG that sets players on a heroic journey to unlock the mysteries of Amalur, a magical world, filled with strange landscapes, exotic cities, colorful characters and terrifying creatures. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will launch in Europe on February 10, 2012 and in North America on February 7, 2012.

It's either here or the ME3 thread, anyway playing the demo will give bonus content for either one in reverse (EDIT: For each other.).
(Or something along those lines with these two demos - Amalur = bonuses in ME3 / ME3 = bonuses in Amalur)

Is this really a fleshed out game or some cheap promo production for this MMO someone was talking about?

*EDIT* Well, so this really was supposed to be an MMO but they canned that idea and made a SP game out of it.
Gonna go with the ISO-Demo first Cool Face

I must be getting old. I don't see anything more than some average aRPG in that gameplay vid. I have no clue what is going on in this thread, probably a huge conspiracy to make me buy this game. It won't work!

- complex but fun combat? check
- huge world? check
- complex class system? check
- flexible and interesting crafting system? check
- lots of stats/numbers/equipment atributes? check
- interesting story? not sure
- interesting world/quests? not sure

So far, most components of great RPG are in place. Hopefuly the last two won't dissapoint.

I must point out that all my knowledge is based on that 30 mins gameplay vid, I see none of that in that vid. As ixi said, probably just a weak start of the game.
