Ok, thanks. I'm not averse to the tried'n'tested combat, as long as it's polished. I'll grab the retail disk and at least play the month, when I get back home.

Don't have much experience with mmo's, but if you liked KOTOR 1&2 you'lle love this.
You don't have to play it for more than a month if you don't want to, you can cancel your subscription the last day, but every character has a different storyline, each worth your time, and it's impossible to finish them all in a month, at least if you're a normal player.
I've done only 1 flashpoint so far, but it was great fun, the epic raging from other people at my choice of an answer is well worth the buy on its own.
Story is the main selling point for me. I like to pretend I'm playing KOTOR 3, and the multiplayer part is just an optional bonus.
Combat is fine I guess, can't really compare it to anything since the only other mmo I've played was ST:O.
I'm lvl 13 now, and having a blast, the two planets I've been look gorgeous, fully voiced characters make me feel like a part of the universe. The absence of the F5 key, makes every decision crucial and final making the game even more immersive.
Worth every cent for me. The game has some issues, downloading, a few bugs, the chat could be better, and that's it. The rest is just personal preference.

Considering you get a popup once you reach level 40 that says you've unlocked the territory control stuff on Ilum, I'd say it's not that clearly communicated.
It's pretty fucking dumb if they would actually ban someone for doing that. Just lock the planet for non-50s if they want to prevent it.

WHAT THE FUCK??????? They sanction your account for going into higher level areas? What the fuck is that hideous bullshit about? The only penalty from taking your lv40 char into a lv50 area should be a drubbing and an ass-kicking from tougher mobs!

its not a joke, and for me game is like 7/10 maybe less, cause game is rushed like hell, so many bugs etc...

*slicing is nerfed so much, that when I send for lockbox for cca 1500 credits, my companion will fetch me box with cca 900 credits = useless
*alot of effect stay on you till u relog, like healing etc
*I was able to stuck myself to that point, that I wasnt able to unstuck even with /stuck command
*when u accept pvp sometimes it goes to character screen instead of arena
*floating door at the end of Black Talon (cant resist to point this)
And thats not all, but I think this will be ok for now... |
Sorry but I gotta call Bullshit here.
Companion re-selecting default skills is annoying, agreed.
Items in bank stack, but not via rightclick, gotta be done manually, annoying, not a bug
Auction house is fine, it aint perfect but it's as good as most AH's you find in MMO's and better than some.
Slicing is bullshit, even after nerf I have never ONCE seen them return with less than what it cost, ever.
Effects staying on is annoying and a bug, not a gamebreaker though, oh and you don't need to relog, just zone.
Stuck beyond Unstuck happens, either relog and try stuck again or use the Quick Travel, a bug.
I PVP a lot, got a Rank 38 and a Rank 19 so far and never had your crash-to-char screen, ever.
So basically, some annoying stuff for sure, but hardly something thats gamebreaking, not like the first few days after pre-launch with the "stuck on ship" or the "4 pending = stuck" etc, but they fixed those and will fix these as well, just like every mmo.
If you can honestly tell me that the above = rushed game, you can't have tried many other MMO launches.

About the alignment gain, you do know it shows only after you complete the quest that you gained it on? I thought it was a bug at first but then at the end of the quest the points gained are calculated.

I'm glad I never bought this from what I've been reading. From the customer reviews on megacritic it seems this title is very much 'marmite' i.e you either love it or hate it.
I played up until level 5 with an early access pre-order account (which I'd cancelled the pre-order) and decided that I really couldn't be bothered with it.
