What I can do with my iHAS124 Y ???
Should I just throw it out of a window or does max burner c4e fw works on those?
if not, Is there a word on new version of fw supporting those ihas124 models?

Try CloneCD, with Imgburn half of my games fail to install but with CloneCD they all install amd work fine

I can install them. They just fail after 2-3 minutes of checking.
That check is just not applied when game is running from the disc.
You misunderstood me:P
btw. iHAS124 B. Does it matter if its a "19" B or what? Is it hard to flash it?
So can someone explain me what should I tell/look for when buying the writer? What models only should i watch for?
and is iXtreme_Burner_Max_1.0_Firmware_XBOX360-iND the only package that was released?

Yeah i reburned with full burn on my mates iHAS, it works great installed. |
I reburned a game without IHAS and worked perfectly after patching.
Using LG burner with Platinum Dual Layers.

well when you install it to hd, the console has time to do a content integrity verification check on the dvd in the drive which fails with truncated burns since the last 3% is missing.

You can find topography patches on the net, they come as a PPF that you apply to an ISO that you download...
Takes two-three minutes to find and apply, then you just do your truncated burn - don't install - and play.
Suck it up and play noisy or buy and patch an ihas124-B theres no way around it at current. |

Yes to both.
just before the new dash, microsoft silently patched DAE.bin which changed the way Xbox communicates with the drive for stricter anti piracy measures.
The topology data needs to be applied to all XGD3 games (apart from halo: reach (AP2.5) and some others iirc) for them to be recognised as LT3+ had to evolve to counter these new measures.
If you have a bog-standard-everyday-normal-guy-dvd-dl burner, then you won't be able to do a "Full Burn" and you'll be losing ~3% of the end of the track that includes these new security methods.
But!
It will still work, because as your playing the game the drive does not have the time to zip to the end of the track to check the new protection methods. If you install the game though, it will check on launch and shutdown your console, and flag you for a ban. |

Glad to finally be of some use to this fine community.
I've only been in the flashing scene for about 4 weeks now (flashed lt2 just prior to the DAE update) and over the xmas break managed to do my first liteon without any fancy kits, just a screw driver and a pair of scissors (no joke!) with some left over speaker wire.
Was intense to say the least as it wasn't my xbox  |

here we go guys, once every year i'm here to update my 360 and i'm completely clueless! 
actually i have the good old liteon drive on my phat 360 and in my jungleflasher folder it's placed the LTPlus-748v1.1.
questions are:
1) i just need the latest LT firmware and i'm good?
2) I've see in this thread some "truncated" method, what is this all about? i will need it?
3) for now i'm only interested to play Dark Souls, it comes with a new dashboard? the LT firmware will come with a XGD3 bypass?
4) while checking with abgx and burning with imgburn, i will need to choose some special options? i'm not burning from almost an year.

1) No
1.1) You'll need to reburn any XGD3 games (ISO > 7.5gb) with new Topology patches
1.2) If you want the games to run properly, you'll need a new burner with Max Burn firmware (IHAS-124xxB series flashed with C4Evas firmware) this is to comply with new protection on XGD3 discs
2) As above, truncate cuts off about the last 3% of the disc, which microsoft has bastardly stuck some new protection methods. Truncates will work if you do not install the game but cannot be ensured to work and be LIVE safe.
3) DarkSouls is a bitch for me, you need to patch the version with topology, and burn at 2.4x
4) Burn at 2.4x on a good disc brand, enable OPC (Optimum power calibration) through imgburn and when it cries that it's reached the end of the disc, just hit ok and let it finalize. Skip validation and test.
NB:
Most topology data can be found on xbox360iso forums and come as a PPF patch that you apply. If the ISO you get is Prepatched, you can skip this.
Always update to the latest dash before flashing, or it may just as well destroy you house with a nuclear explosion.

So, to install a game i'm forced to have a new burner with that special feature or i'm stuck with the jet-engine sound from the console... got it right?
Even with topology patches, i will end with a truncated version?
I've already been banned years ago, "stealth" isn't an issue.

Haha, the iHas only cost $15-20 (I got mine for £12 delivered from Play.com UK) and flashing the firmware takes 3-4 Minutes tops, burning at 4x speed takes 25m per disc, and then i can install and play fine even on live. |
