This is an MMO for the Single player who're completely uninterested in number crunching, template character building to fit a certain role in PvP etc...

A single player MMO is what I'd call an oxymoron. The criticism is valid and the things need to be fixed for this to work long term. I'd love to spend many hours in PvP, ops etc but at the moment I cant see myself doing that. Aggro management and cast system is subpar, imo.

I couldn't care less about PvP. Besides, MMO isn't a definition set by WoW. MMO simply means Massive Multiplayer Online. There are puzzle games that are MMO's. I suppose poker sites could be classified as MMO's.

Your obsession with hating WoW is putting words in my mouth. I have said no such thing. I have played WoW, but I have also played Anarchy Online, Lineage 2, Star Wars Galaxies etc etc. You can spin your definition of an MMO however you want but the fact is there is a very set theme for an MMORPG such as this and they are following it to the letter. Nothing wrong with that, as you can see I'm quite fond of the genre. Fact is that when it comes to combat smoothness and responsiveness no game in this genre(or most others for that matter) have had a quality like WoW. This has nothing to do with content, pvp, pve, thats just how it is.
If a game with this budget is to survive it needs to have sustainable end-game content. For many that is PvE experiences and for some its PvP and for some its a mix. Or do you disagree?

That's what I keep hearing, but then why would I pay a monthly subscription when there's plenty of proper single player RPG's out there.

Seriously dont take Frants word for it, he is on some kind of crusade to end all MMORPG playing.
If you enjoy MMORPG's there is plenty of things to like. And hell its not like you are FORCED to pay forever? But hey it will be here for quite a while..I have played some PVP and the responsiveness and smoothness is not up to par, imo but its not boring. The scenarios are pretty fun. Dont have a lvl 50 so cant say anything about raiding(Ops).

Now THAT is something I agree with. If SW:TOR want to survive they HAVE to cater a lot for the PvP crowd since they're ultimately the ones that will keep subscribing. PvE-players like myself will at most pay 1-2 months to play through a couple of characters to lvl 50 and check out the end game, whatever that will be.
I really really like SW:TOR for the PvE, Solo play and Co-op playing (sharing story lines in a group as two different classes playing the game together with a friend).
It's still an MMO, it currently caters more for the PvE-crowd than the PvP-crowd. It all comes up to what Bioware will do with the game.

Now you're pulling conclusions out of your ass. I played WoW for 5-6 months and enjoyed it in the beginning but at one point I got a revelation that it's a stupid game with clever tricks to keep the masses subscribed and willing to grind daily, like doing the same boring instances every single day to get currency to buy gear that is slightly better. Not to mention the story design is 100x worse than the one they have in SW:TOR. Heck, EVERY quest-NPC you meet in TOR have tons of voice recorded combined with a story, not just generic generated bullshit quests.
That's from the perspective of a PvE player btw.
