I haven't read any previews. Did they mention anything about improving the SP (variety, story etc.)?

Apparently yes, the preview posted on the previous page said Gearbox is working on the story and missions to fix the mistakes of the first.

Good, if they fix the boringness then it'll actually be a good game. The first one fell in the same category as Rage as far as I'm concerned: lots of wasted potential. Only difference is that Borderlands wasn't a poorly implemented piece of crap (technically speaking)
Although I must admit that the humour in Borderlands helped as well. It doesn't exactly take itself seriously (good thing!)

no seriously, what the fuck is taking SO LONG, god i hate january!
and... what the fuck are you all on about story for? borderlands had easily one of the most shit stories ever and that is enough, don't fix what ain't broken, if i wanted a story i'd read a book or watch a fucking movie this is a game i want it to play nicely, couldn't give a shit less about any story, i hope they don't fuck it up and point at that excuse.
this is possibly one of the very few games i'll actually consider buying this year, i know, i'm sure they'll fuck it up at the last minute too, BUT it is one of probably.... 5 at most that'll be considered this year.

Elaborate. I didn't know there was a wrong way to play it.

I think hes just referring to when you get the feel for it.
You can leap and spin and headshot all over the place, it sjust feels fantastic. But you need to put a lot of time in to get that twitchy with it, which only happens if you love the game in the first place.

I didn't say it was shit, I've put a lot of hours in it. It lacked variety, a decent story and interesting characters. It was nothing more than a simple "do whatever you want" sandbox kinda game imo. Fun, but not memorable.

Disagree, if you played with fully with friends thru co-op, it's defo memorable.
But indeed, singleplayer isn't.

personally, i agree with saus here, but then again, some people like guided tours through endless straight hallways of waist high clutter, the rest of us prefer sandbox games, no big deal.

Me and my friends still got bored shitless because it's the same shit over and over, without challenging you in any way. And we're the ones who've played through D2 10 years in a row.

Single player bored me to tears in 3 hours. Couldn't take it. Then, I tried it with 3 friends in co-op, and we ended up finishing the game. It was definitely very fun that way.

Borderlands was one of those games I didn't finish (my max lvl char was like 35lvl) but had tons of fun while playing it. I was just burnt out doing the same shit over and over again, there was very little diversity, basically no story to keep one going on so I gave up. Hopefuly the sequel will improve on those aspects. Anyway, definetely day 1 purchase for me.

"Page not found". And only Xcom of the two (judging by the article's name) was pushed to 2013. B2 is still remains scheduled for summer 2012.

FISCAL 2013. Could still very well come out in 2012 depending on their fiscal calendar (which is different for every company)
