Quote:
UFC Undisputed 3 is expected to have many new changes from UFC Undisputed 2010, including the following:

New THQ servers for online play
Pride Mode, with Pride rules, ring, and fighters. Commentary will be provided by Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros. Lenne Hardt will announce the fighters in Pride.
A brand new submission system.
Mo-capping used for fighters giving more realistic movement and striking.(This doesn't apply for all fighters. Some will still use archetypes.)
New Stats: Footwork, Ground Grapple Top and Bottom for offense and defense.
Fighter entrances.
Two gameplay control options: traditional and simplified. (Pro and Amateur controls)
Leg Kick TKOs, including leg breaks from checked kicks.
New submission moves including the standing rear naked choke, standing guillotine, and the flying scissor heel hook.
New KO animations.
Damage recovery between rounds.
Cuts affect stamina and energy recovery rate.
Redesigned striking game emphasizing jabs, quick strikes, and combinations.
New Stamina system. Your stamina can only come back up so far until you are fully rested.
Stamina depletion will also effect fighter's stats.
New clinch controls. You can close the distance to keep from getting knee'd to the head & punching your way out. (This also helps in other areas)
New transition in the clinch to back control.
Whip knees can be done to the body & can be blocked.
Stat decay removed in Career Mode.
Roster fighters from the UFC and Pride can now be taken through career mode.
Auto-Block removed.
New ground positions with the cage.
Using the cage to set-up submissions & "wall walking" back to a standing position.
New options, such as Stamina Simulation mode, Competition Spec mode (Removes all random elements such as flash KOs and doctor stoppages), and Stat Equalizer (Equalizes all stats to 80 for both fighters).
Reach is now a big part in striking.
Fighters are now able to sway on the ground to avoid strikes.
A new feint system.
Takedown-intercepting knees have been added.
"Finish the Fight" allows you to continue striking until the ref pulls you off.
Sweeps are back including new ones.
Elbow spamming has been fixed. Only certain fighters have elbows in clinch range.
Ref resetting has been fixed. You can only pull someone off the cage by a takedown/slam.
No more sub-cancelling.
Pride Grand Prix have been included, with the ability to have fights in the same night with damage moving onto the next fight.

Yeah, the only real problem I had with Undisouted 2 was that EA MMA felt way more fluid and natural in motion.. Undisputed felt more like some arcade fighter, 10-15 kicks/punches could land in a row without a knockdown/knockout etc. A bit too stiff and "arcadey" Smile

Hope this one will fix that though!

Edit: Well, looking at that video fisk posted, it looks more like Tekken than any MMA-fight I've ever seen..

Hehe Very Happy I must say I'm enjoying this quite a bit more than i expected to, those Street Figher-esque videos of the game really put me off, but the game isn't that arcadey really. Sure, the fighters can take a bit more damage than a real human being, but it's not silly much, like that Edgar/Henderson video posted earlier in this thread. Im playing with simulation stamina though.

The career is pretty good so far, only gone four fights though. The game really has nailed the authenticity of the UFC - all the intros, presentation, voice overs etc. are exactly like IRL, I don't remember it being this alike in the earlier UFC games. Goldie narrates all menus and tutorials, which is nice. Also, the career mode follows the real life timeline of events, so when I began my career, it was UFC 130, Silva v. Sonnen. You can choose to watch the entire event (main card) if you want, or only select matches. Now the results can come out very different from what they did in real life, so I decided to watch the Silva v. Sonnen fight, in which Sonnen wins in the fifth round by TKO Very Happy

Anyway, gonna play some more in a bit, then it's UFC 143 tonight with a bunch of friends, just like always!

Is it just me, or did the difficutly greatly rise as soon as you get into the UFC? Not just the against the real-life fighters, also against fighters that have all stats lower than you and not that great. I'm playing on difficulty setting 3 of 4 (not counting the locked "super hard" setting). And I understand that fighters that get to fight in the UFC are better fighters, but the difference is bit too much IMO.

I never lost one WFA fight, and I did not enter the UFC on my first offer, I went like 6 additional fights after that (defending my WFA title). But now, I'm having a real tough time winning :/

Also, only having two training sessions between each fight is just too little - I mean it costs one full session, just to learn a clinch strike? Ugh..

I think that this is good. I'm still defending my WFA-belt to get to the level I need to enter UFC. UFC *IS* a step up in challenge, and the game should reflect this. I also think it was way too easy to train before, now it's really hardcore. It takes time to become good at many aspects.

I'm working cardio+BJJ and won't transition to striking until I enter the UFC. Right now I'm a blackbelt in BJJ with excellent cardio. I'm also in Blackhouse with a level 3 trainer, so slowly developing. 10 title defenses will be my limit to go to UFC, so 5 more fights and I'm good to go.

I absolutely agree that it should be harder, but it was just that the transition, even when facing low-leveled fantasy characters, was a bit too steep. I did get a nice feeling though when I first lost against Diabate, and then knocked him the fuck out on the rematch a few months later Very Happy It was close though, got rocked more than once..
