Is there any way there will be a LT 2.0 release? Or is that just not possible?

if i upgrade to lt 3.0 and overburn/truncate my copies, all i lose is the install feature and the ability to play my older backups.
is that a correct statement?

I also lost the ability to read any non verbatim discs; i had games that lt2.0 would read perfectly, like red dead redemption, now with lt3.0 it wouldnt read anything other than verbatim -.-

Game is detected and can be installed but doesn't run. Getting "This disc is not supported" error.
Tried truncate burn on non iMax drive. Need to wait for Topology data shiz or am I SOL?

Ok I did the google thing but I cannot find any confirmation on this new patched XGD3 game working on anything lower than lt3.0
Ive got LT+2.0 & running all previous xgd3 releases fine,I know some people may just say "its easy man it takes just 10 mins to flash your console balh blah blah...."I dont wanna reflash just yet as it means reburning all the previous xgd3 games that currently run ok & also all the games that I have that currently work that are not on verbs will have to reburned to as I read lt+3.0 will not boot up non verb discs?,
Also not to bothered about my current flashed console being flagged either as i have a unflashed machine just for xboxlive, just need confirmation that this game if burned like previous xgd3 releases will boot on my xbox360 like previous xgd3 releases

In order to boot on your console the game's iso must have AP25 replay data instead of topology data. All latest releases including this game are for LT+ 3.0 and won't run on anything lower.

It doesn't boot on LT2.0 it seems; would there be anything stopping me flashing with LT3.0 and then flashing back to LT2.0? Would it work?

Ok right understand!.So when games patched using something like abgx360 with topology data game will only boot on firmware lt+ 3.0 so is there anyway of removing the topology data like is it reversable with any software or when its patched that it? &only way of booting is if someone uploads retail copy without it being patched with latest abgx360

(it already has topology data, that's why it's for LT+ 3.0)
--------------------------------
I burnt the whole iso with an iHas drive, have LT+ 3.0 and it installs, boots and plays just fine.
Either follow the current methods available or wait for an ap25 patch if it ever comes out to be able to play on LT+ 2.0. Also by truncating isos you run a larger risk of the console spitting out errors.

I doubt there will be some kind of patch etc for LT+ 2.0 cause AP25 challenges are now different per console that's why LT+ 3.0 was made in the first place.

random encounters are an old artifact from the past, they only came to existence due to hardware limitations back in the 80s and overstayed their welcome.
chrono cross on the psx was the first game i played that did away with random encounters and had enemies on-screen, after that i just couldnt understand why all the other jrpgs still kept shoving their forced encounters down our throats. i am the kind of gamer who fights all the battles anyway, but i really prefer seeing the enemies and knowing the exact moment the battle is going to start, instead of being forcefully dragged into a different dimension every few steps.
i would love a return of most of the classic elements from old jrpgs, especially the overworld -
but no random encounters, they are a horribly annoying thing i had to put up with for so long, they dont have any value whatsoever within a game´s structure and they do not belong in new jrpgs.
basically: no more overworld, no more uematsu, but a return to random encounters?
fuck you square, thats three strikes now...

RE had absolutely nothing to do with hardware limitations. Zelda says hi! The mechanic was used to simulate dangerous, monster/etc infested areas without the need to fill every pixel of the screen with monster sprites/models and to negate the "we're only going to show three monsters on screen, but if you go out and come back they'll respawn to simulate the appearance of infestation!" I admit that some games have broken generators, resulting in severely unfair/irritating amounts of encounters (FFV? I hate you) but the mechanic works just fine in the majority of jRPGs.
IMO of course.

the ff and dq games borrowed the mechanics from the ultima series which started around 80/81 and actually used random encounters because they really couldnt show enough on-screen,
zelda was almost a next-gen game in that relation.
therefore random encounters werent even needed during the nes 8-bit era, but i guess people already got used to them and they worked well enough so it became standard.
i didnt really have problems with random encounters at first, but as you mentioned already,
playing encounter-heavy stuff like ffv and xenogears kinda left a bad aftertaste in that regard (even though xenogears was a brilliant game overall), and the introduction to chrono cross´ combat system just made me wish for more.
i guess my personal fav mix of jrpg aspects would be tales of vesperia, combining old school systems and new ones:
beautiful overworld with day/night shifts and changing enemies, no random encounters ergo visible enemies on screen, action-oriented combat with the option to freely switch between all characters and even have 2 friends join in for coop play, music was decent too.
add a better story/writing, less anime clichés and this would be my perfect jrpg.
(though i have to admit, ff13 has the most tactical, ingenious combat system ever.
it clicked on so many levels and was so much fun that i will put up with the random encounters in 13-2 just so i can play that again.)
