still cant understand why a patched release is out but an unpatched one is not. How hard is it to release the iso one step earlier?

I can confirm that the .iso from the russian site and xboxsky installs fine (even when burned using truncate) and does play and work well so far on LT+ 2.0, Dash 13599, BenQ drive (not that it matters).

Jeps its work. Does this mean that all new games work on lt2.0 until the latest dash is needed?

So how should you develop your 2 characters? On sarah i've put everything into ravager (lvl 40) and noel into commando (lvl 40). I'm on a certain boss not far into the game and i am getting my ass kicked. My guys take too much damage, lack buffs and do mediocre chains.
Is it better to spread your CP around and take every extra class that unlocks, or is serah for example a better ravager than noel?

Can't really say for certain, but based on my experience from FFXIII, I would go for these Paradigms:
COM/RAV/RAV - Basic
SEN/SEN/SEN - Only needed against those big bad attacks.
RAV/RAV/RAV - Chain building
COM/RAV/MED - Minor injuries
SYN/SAB/MED - Start of battle (de)buffs
your choice
With that n mind, developing RAV for Sarah is all she needs for a while. I would also go all out on COM for Noel. When you start feeling the battles are getting tougher and enemies hitting harder, I would invest in SEN for both. I would only develop SYN/SAB later on when they are really needed and substitute monsters for them meanwhile. Hope that helps!

I may have to buy this.. But havent finished Xenoblade yet.. (or skyrim.. or deus ex). Damn u days with only 24 hours! And damn u Path of Exile beta and SWTOR!
But.. random encounters <3. I really missed that in XII (XIII not so much, weirdly enough, but still glad it's back).

I get a feeling it's a lot like FFX-2... silly writing but great gameplay. I mean when one of the NORA members saw a big plant he was like: "It looks like a time anomaly" or something like that. Because clearly, when you see a plant growing way too fast, that's what your brain jumps to.
I think for me the game suffers because I jumped to it straight from Xenoblade and this just doesn't measure up in certain (most) aspects. I remember playing the demo and being super excited. Still it is a game worth playing but make sure you at least play it until beating Atlas, otherwise you're really not seeing the true FFXIII-2.

Not sure why? All these releases before the one you posted have been PAL which means they won't work on US consoles. The one you posted should, based on the name.
Just a bit on my progress so far:
I decided to unlock Synergist for Noel and Saboteur for Sarah first, then I went with ATB increase for both. Noel quickly learns Protect and Shell, after which I stopped spending points in Syn; Sarah learns Deprotect, Deshell, Wound and Poison fairly quickly which are immensily useful, especially with this new wound mechanic they have thrown in.
I put just a few points into SEN for both, just enough to unlock Mediguard and Steelguard respectively. Rest went to Commando for Noel and Ravager for Sarah for now. Next expansion will see me unlock Medic for both, if possible.
Just finished Bresha Ruins 005 AF.

Finished XIII-2 in 28h with 52 fragments. Some players managed to do it in 21h with ~40 fragments but whatever. There's still a lot to do because there's a total of 160, even locations I didn't even visit yet.
Considering how the player can choose where to go I managed to get an item from some alternative time which later the main quest asked me to "look for". That was a nice moment.
Also almost all side missions have vague instructions and don't have objective pointers which tell you where to find something and in what timeline, you must explore which is also nice.
The easy difficulty is certainly designed for those who find the battles boring or a grind because they're piss easy with easy mode. I played the whole game on normal without any problems and with running away from some fights but after 6 retries of the last battle I switched to easy and it felt like godmode.
I still Think Resonance of Fate is better as a whole package with a great battle system and characters which are not idiots with stupid Motomu Trolliyama dialogue and an overdose of drama. It was simple, it was human, it was serious and funny when it needed to be.
Nier lacked good gameplay, but the story, especially in a later playthrough....my god...and that music...it's a special game...
XIII-2 seems to be the opposite of Nier.
Also, why the fuck didn't they add a hide HUD button? They created flashy battles and the ability to auto-attack which means just pressing one button (you can beat the game again with just that, but you must paradigm shift though)...then why don't they let me see those flashy battles without the HUD covering 60% of the screen! It's not like they never had a feature like that before in a FF game.

Bought it, but somehow this game is having difficulties installing. When I tell it to do so, it goes to the installation screen, the thing starts swirling, but nothing else happens. At all. No disc spin-up, no progress bar, no sound whatsoever. Kept it running for an hour or so. I also can't cancel it, but have to turn off the xbox via the home-menu (can't return to the desktop from the home-menu, just turn the console off and do stuff that does not require the installation screen to 'minimize').
The game plays fine from disc and is undamaged for as far as I can see. There's enough free space on the HDD and other games install as they should. I'm stumped..
I guess I'll keep playing it from the disc for now, but I really dislike the sound of my xbox trying to lift off all the time.
edit: heh.. fixed it. Had to disconnect my LAN cable so I wasn't connected to xbox live. It started installing right away. Weird...
