the real fun (and only part i ever enjoyed, back when it came out) is the space pvp. The rest (space mission less, but especially ground missions) was rather boring (for me) and "soulless". imho anyway (and im of those who actually bought the game when it came out ^^)

What's the deal with the borg missions in the regulus sector?
every time I go in, distress call, I answer it..
I warp in and "oh we failed to defeat the borg"
and I warp out
that's it

They are already defeated or it ended with a loss after 15 -20 minutes

Right, but it happens every single time I try to join it.
I've never once warped in to an actual fight. All I see is me and several ships warp in, then nothing.
the last time I did it, it offered me a quest to defeat the borg, but there were no borg there and I just warped out again with my bridge officer tell me I suck.

Christ. I'm in the middle ofa mission and my character has lost the ability to do anything.
I can use F to interact, I can move aruond, click on stuff, but I cannot attack or use any abilities. Either by pressing the number keys or clicking the icons.
I'm completely trapped because I'm supposed to shoot a door and my away team won't do it unless I do it first.

if I log off in the middle of a mission can I continue it when I log back in?

[edit]
this is weird.. I can't post to the star trek forums, and it claims my last visit was in 2010, yet I posted there 2 days ago when I couldn't log in.

I've had that twice, relogging fixed it, and yes you can continue the mission.
But since you posted this a while ago you probably already know that Smile

I've joined the borg mission maybe 10 times and got to fight twice.

So I finally got a critical success on one of those duty missions that gives you a bonus. I got a bonus to my flow capacitors. How do I actually see that bonus? It's not listed as part of the ship stats

And what's up with those damn science missions, like scanning for binary pairs and stuff. despite having 75% or higher success rates, I actually fail them like 90% of the time. It seems if you want to expect a success in this game you have to have over 90% calculated.
usually I don't match most on the requirements on them, so I just have the base success rate, which is around 65%, which means I should expect to at least be successful on half of them, but I've failed almost every single one of them and I've done like 25-30 of them.
Just now, I finally matched well on one, had a guy that matched a success and a critical success, the other guy matched a success, total calculated success 88%. I thought finally, I'll get it, 30 minutes later, nope fail.

Often I'll fire off like 10-12 missions before closing down, come back later/next day, all missions success except for those things.

and while I was writing that another failed, with 2 guys who each matched a success category (scan some kind of burst)

Any of the bonus buffs you get from these Duty missions are listed under your character's passive stats listing and the couple I have got were on a time based for like 2 hours.

What pisses me off is that you can't just follow the "main story", due to not getting enough xp there to level up to the next level.
They FORCE you to do USELESS sidemissions.. really a buzzkiller for me.

Nah on normal, prolly can't do elite due to my friends that play with me (they ain't the smartest ones when it comes to these kind of games)

Nah it's fine, we are playing it casual anyway, we could try 1 step higher and see if they can manage that. (Problem is that they are heavy dyslectic and virtually can't read anything english, i have to explain ALL to them and still they have problems managing so many things at once.)

Are you playing with handicapped people? Confused

I dont see why any normal person would have issues with the difficulty of this game. Laughing

Sausje, make sure you participate in the Mirror Events if you can. They give plenty of exp and some decent loot. Fleet actions in general are good things to do between missions.

Yesterday we where looking at those fleet actions, but don't they need like a group of 20 people?! Because i don't know how bad the pugging is in this game.
And we can only play after dinnertime (1 works, so he aint back till around 18.00), so are those events then available aswell?

You can press J and check all the events at the bottom of the window that pops up. IIRC there's a Mirror event at about 21:00 GMT+1 every day.

Fleet actions will auto-group 20 (or well, depends on the fleet action) people, so you can just queue your whole group and you'll get in the same one. They're pretty easy, so difficulty shouldn't be a problem.

Oh, and don't forget to queue up a bunch of assignments. The extra exp you get from those can be quite significant.

I played this game a few months after release, only thing I really liked was the space stuff. Might try again since it's free now; with all the shit they try to sell you in the C-Store it always felt F2P anyway.

This game goes down more than a $2 whore

It seems that I'm getting notices nearly daily that the game will be brought down for some maintenance or something.

I've played it pretty much non-stop the last couple of days, dinged 40 right before I logged.

Science Officer in sci vessels so far, quite fun but not sure if it can hold my interest longer than another week. Decently complex though, big plus in my book Smile

What's the deal on these new featured episodes? Are they only available for the week? or will you be able to do them indefinitely?

Asfar as i know, you can do them indefinitely after they have been released and the last one happend.
Tho doing them on time and in order, gives you a special reward at the end of those 5 weeks.

What pisses me off now, is the CONSTANT dropping of those lockboxes, they require you to buy a key from the shop (one that costs 100 Cryptic points, 100Zen =/= 80 Cryptic points, 500Zen = €4,50, so for €4,50 you get 400 Cryptic points, so per box it costs you €1,13) and they drop by masses. Last night about 40 dropped for us... And they really expect us to buy keys for ALL of them, greedy fucking tactic tbh.

Yeah, and they have to make sure to notify us every time someone gets a ship.

I wouldn't mind getting a ship, but that's a bit much
