To balance the multiplayer in new Windows 8 Xbox live experience, there will be no native support for keyboard and mouse only x360 pad.

It’s easy to forget that the Windows 8 consumer preview is going to be more than just a beta. Microsoft even has some games on tap to be available day one when the “beta” goes live.

The Verge got the scoop on the games that will be available to buy for those who want to take part in the Windows 8 consume preview. The list of games are:
Hydro Thunder, Toy Soldiers, Reckless Racing, Angry Birds, Ilomilo, Rocket Riot, Full House Poker, Tentacles, Crash Course, Ms. Splosion Man and Wordament.

Source

as for Ms. Splosion Man,there were hints for Steam release as well, but I hope most of the list as well.

Where's the missing PC versions of Halo and Gears? Is this what MS considers supporting PC gaming?

While Hydro Thunder and Toy Soldiers are both excellent games, this is ridiculous... buy Windows 8 and you can play 2 year old XBLA titles! >_>

They already support these for PC gamers through a unified Microsoft experience, making it easy for you to play Halo and Gears with your friends and family in the living room.

That's what MS are thinking/saying Laughing What I want to know is whether this "app store" and the XBLA ports are going end up exclusive to Windows 8.

depends on how many people upgrade to windows 8 , so off course at first it'll be exclusive to 8.

Right now, most people are comfortable with win7, people like it, heck, most people just got really used to it. They don't want to change to win8, they don't see a reason to do so - and I completely understand why.

So microsoft, in order to avoid a vista like disaster (putting aside the technical faults now), have to make win8 VERY EXTRA sexy, partially by making sure the ports stay limited the win8.

Truly relaunches the PC....

As many of you might be aware many popular series are PEGI 18: Elder Scrolls, COD, GTA - just to give a couple of examples. Speaking of how to shoot yourself in the foot....

Pegi-18 is a bit like ESRB AO however there's some difference, AO for ESRB is pretty rare and usually involves sex whereas PEGI can also have very extreme violence or other strong themes, unsure how to best describe it.

Unfortunately, many games are rated PEGI 18. So i don't think it's a good decision for them. We'll see if they reply to the questions asked by various gaming sites (rock, paper, shotgun included).

Maybe they'll give a clearer explanation....

Yes I should have mentioned that Pegi-18 is and is also becoming more commonly used. Smile
(Earlier it wasn't too common and mostly we saw Pegi-16 but it's changed a bit, probably stricter ratings or well guidelines over what content is rated how.)

(Skyrim I believe might have gotten it due to the dead bodies and other such decoration, albeit the decapitation move probably did something too, otherwise it seems pretty tame and should likely have been Pegi-16 at most.)

Let's not forget the nude mods floating around. Since Morrowind, there were many adult mods around, so i guess giving Skyrim PEGI18 was kind of a no-brainer and the logical choice.

From what i recall Fallout3 and New Vegas are also rated PEGI18, part because of the adult mods, but also because of the cannibalistic theme (albeit optional).

Was their store ever supposed to sell "core" titles? I thought it was mostly for casual tablet stuff. Who would use it anyway? If you try to find a desktop app (i.e. all the games that are any good), it just gives you the link to the developer's website, at which point you have to wonder, why would anyone use the store to get there instead of just googling the game or buying it from Steam/GMG/GOG etc.?
