One thing I found strange are the cooldowns, though. In the first mission they were very, very short, but in the second they suddenly became 10-25 seconds, which, for an Adept at least, means pretty dull gameplay - 10 seconds on a most basic of powers is waaaay to long. I'm not sure how it works and where does the difference come from, but I hope it'll be slightly different in the final game.
Yeah, the demo failed to explain that point. But apparently power cooldowns are tied to the amount of weight you are carrying (ie guns)
In the first mission you only have a pistol so your powers regenerate in a few seconds. In the second mission they load you up with four guns, so your powers take a shit ton of time to regenerate.
But, since your cooldowns are so fast with one weapon, and you have skill upgrades to even further reduce the cooldown, I can only imagine that we'd be able to spam powers (maybe)
For myself, I am very underwhelmed with the adept, the vanguard gets a kickass power called nova, you can basically charge an enemy and follow it up with nova for a visually awesome and destructive combo.
Adepts on the other hand get lame blue grenades, what the hell happenned to the biotic specialist.
Good news for anyone who preorders (or has preordered) #ME3 on Origin: You'll receive a free copy of Battlefield 3
At least something positive
really ? nice, specially after having finished the demo, I am sure to buy ME3.
Excellent story. Excellent movie effects. YOU are ready to kick the ass of these Reapers now. Developers have used a "kid" in the first mission just to give a kind of "revenge" feeling, tell you.
However, bad things: the mouse dampening is killing all and the there are still many glitches related to sounds during both missions. More, system requirements are still high to run the game smoothly.
So, ME3 will have to be patched again and again after its launch day
BUT it's a MUST BUY for me.
Ok just finished the derp effect 3 demo. Wow, that was cheesy. Cheese all around. And the sound effects... just Graphics were ok, it's a tunnel shooter. Why could I choose rpg again? Because of the laughable upgrade system?
The whole UI seems to be a mess. I only played ME1 but I do not remember it being such a mess
Won't even play for the story as the delivery is soooooooooooooo generic and sooooooo full of clichés.
And the firefights played like shit. Derphard moves like a turd and the dumbed down cover system is crappy too.

Yeah, just this little piece of the cheese was moldy. Maybe the rest of the cheese is alright
I'll wait for the final ISO demo but just like someone said a couple of pages back, to see what rocksteady did with this engine on AC and then to witness how it looks here...

You know what bothers me. For whole two games, there was no any kinds of kids in the game. None, nada...
And then they introduce "the kid" in most cliche form possible. That together with much lamer soundtrack (instead giving epic, it gives "OMG, it's so tragic!" feel), really downs introductory mission in my opinion.
Before the derping continues. The story is thin in the demo, but apparently it's more fleshed in the release. There was a post on twitter by the lead designer stating as such, and that it was cut to make the demo smaller. If someone is really interested...well fuck ya you can go to that BW shithole social network thing and search for it, or look on twitter yourself.
Graphics, tiny texture maps in the demo for the PC. They're using console textures. Some people tried copying over the ones from ME2 with some success though. Damn it all to hell, the running animation looked flipply floppy like their legs were going to shoot off and, they were going to take flight at the start of the demo. Gah.
I guess we'll wait and see on the release though. It felt funky, kinda like moving from ME to ME2. That damn mouse setting, accel? buffering or whatever it was. Ugh.
Multiplayer stats will continue in full version or have to play from 1st??
Thanks!
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Urgh. So far I am NOT impressed. The visuals are fine (for the most part) and the same ME style is still there, but the animation is shockingly bad - especially facial - and everything just feels off. Also, I hope the opening to the demo isn't the opening to the game, because that was terrible - just dumped in a room without any reason, told of how bad you are/were without example? I know the devs have said the demo is specifically chopped and cut, so I'm hoping the REAL opening to the game has significantly more flesh to it.
Definitely not impressed so far. This is most definitely an ISOdemo✓ for me.
hard to say how will be the final release in fact. It would be very nice WITHOUT these annoying bugs in the demo (mouse and cheap sounds for me), so even if I am ready to preorder the game on Origin, really have to say the demo is little bit disappointing (in spite of the excellent story and atmosphere), as if developers have made this demo just to satisfy the players request, very strange I think.

That, as far as I know, is bridged with the various books and such released (Plus that last ME2 DLC.) but hopefully the real game will also explain it a bit better.
animations are straight from 1862 and the texture quality from around 1480
Maybe they will fix the textures with a patch. Think positive! And none of these lads here are thinking of buying this game. How else will we get our hands on all the DLCs

Yeah, I tried a Vanguard too and it was a blast (literally) So Vanguard it is for the final game, as with both prequels. Neither Adept nor Sentinel got anything worth noting. Engineer is pretty awesome now, though, with drones AND turrets you can actually throw behind enemy lines.

Uh... yeah.
Yeah, just like they fixed Garrus's face on the first game.

I hate the fact, that the game is forcing you to play from cover, and doesn't give you an option not to. Get out of cover, you die in 2 seconds. I played sentinel on insanity, and tech armor did fuck all - couldn't get close to even a single enemy to cut him down with melee. And playing in cover, waiting for cooldowns is incredibly boring.

Yeah, cooldowns are a bitch with a full arsenal, but you'll be able to bring only a weapon or two and they'll be quite shorter. On top of that, character level will be retained if imported, so leveling up powers will also help with that.
That being said, I reckon the soldier won't be so popular now that you can bring any weapon you want.
I still don't understand all the negativity around here. Its a demo folks.
Even if it becomes corridor shooter (yeah right. anyone actually belives that? I bet it will be the same gameplay as ME2. Go to each race and make them fight with You) it would be great becouse of graphics, great sound design and action.
Don't except demo to cover rpg elements of the game and most importand - dialog options. Its a demo. Demos are flashy. But this one, especially earth level left me with jaw on the floor.
Anybody who says it sucks and have bad graphics etc etc etc should go and check their eyes... their brains! You might not like it, but You can't say it will be bad.
have some fucking fun humpers and stop whinning about everything You play
If You hate on games of this quality, then how does it comes, You are a gamers? Stop waiting for ideal game. There will never be one. Just play what there is and enjoy it for christ sake.

Just sayin in case
