Just use autopatcher to patch up to 1.02, then copy over the crack from 1.01. Should fix the bugs.

Does it work? Because if it doesn't, new install will be needed.
Thank you!

This doesn't work. You end up with the 1.01 exe and don't benefit from most of the improvements in 1.02

What's the best way to learn how to play this game ?. Continuous game or the single player route ?.

Campaign eases you in to it, but if you've played one Anno game, you've played them all.

Didn't this have some sort of virus before? Wonder if it's still in the new crack.

Virustotal scan results. Make what you want of those 12/43 positives.

I did buy it (for about £20.00 from Amazon) but I just do not ehjoy the period setting. I absolutely love Anno 1404, but this just does not give me the same sense of satisfaction. Personally I would have preferred a game that went back in history from 1404. Something like the Normans,Romans etc.
However, this is still a gem amongst a sea of consolitis and mediocre that is, unfortunately the PC gaming industry.

Did someone make this update to work? Or is it supposed first to patch it for 1.02?

If the campaign is only for easing you into it, where can I start playing the really good stuff? | Start a continous game with custom goals. Or go online if you're legit.

In this last world event they added a new statistics building, that's halfway to what I would consider one of the best additions to the franchise: production graphs. Right now it can show you the general production amount of everything on an island. If only they would allow us to see the stored amount of a single product on the island in graph form, we could monitor the supply much more precisely and see when it's time to start building new chains.

Damn, what a brilliant game. So many options and so much to do it's ridiculous. I like it more than 1404. More than worth the 14 bucks I've paid for it.

Can someone briefly explain all these world events and the effect on my SP game (if there are any)?

Mister_s wrote: | Can someone briefly explain all these world events and the effect on my SP game (if there are any)? | Basically, there are these elections, which give you certain bonuses based on who wins. I don't remember if these are randomized, but you can check the advantages when you vote. You get an always-on bonus as well as a few active powers you can buy on your ark for licences. They also give career progression based on who you vote for and who wins.
Also there are daily missions, these are only good for 50 career points, and you just have to accept it for one of the factions, go into a game and complete it.
And then there are the global events, these are a series of missions that give career progression as well as achievements. In the case of the last 2 (an eco and a tycoon specific story) they also gave buildings and their own upgrade researches (for ecos it was a very efficient eco-balance generator*, for tycoons it was the statistics building). There was also a questline a while back that was about defeating a powerful pirate and in the end you would get his portrait and some other stuff if I remember correctly.
*I especially like the eco-generator, you can research a blueprint for it and store it in your ark for later use, just like the hydro-dam, giving a huge boost to your next game's start (can only have one of each in your storage, so no stockpiling).

Thanks for the info. Am I screwed if I miss these global events since I don't play much, or are they recurring? Are the electives NPCs/Ai or real players?

The events are recurring, that pirate event was used more than once. The elections are for NPCs only.

FATHER sucks ass though, very badly done. From the cliche personality to the very bad VA, it's all shit. Ruins the campaign a bit.
