There are still some of them and it still doesn't change a thing because those events were just recently. He's doing this for a pretty long time now you know? He's a friggin human leech Laughing

Right. I was just wondering why he's still lurking around here. Been a long time since I visited WBB. I thought he'd quit due to recent events. Guess I was wrong, sadly. Lol Smile

It's more likely that they have financial problems, so they cut non-essentials developers (much less needed for post-release support), after project is done.

Usually such staff gets transferred to work on some new project.

Not really. Seriously, it's common practice, among many developers, to let go of staff following a big project. It isn't always due to financial problems. It's more to prevent them.

So, Thats Syndicate completed. (on xbox)

~9hrs start to finish.

It was much better than i thought it would be, there are definitely some old-school hat tipping moments to the original, which were nice.

It's challenging, but not so challenging that you want to throw your pc out of the window.

Interface and overbloom blinding you can get a bit irritating, but once you get the hang of how everything ties together you can be deathly efficient.

I got CEO rankings on 15/20 missions (which apparently is pretty good) on hard difficulty. Which was hard. really hard. Some of the boss fights feel a bit overpowering on the first try.

Gonna recommend this to my friends - it will be a million times better to play on the PC.

Yep, he's making tons of money by uploading and spreading on WBB. But to get the releases to work and provide extra information (like JB's edits), he comes here and grabs everything he can. Like a real parasite.

Just FYI, Rapidshare and Mediafire doesn't give a dime! I don't upload on other hosts.
2) I don't use any nfohump stuff anymore.. It been years now..

LOL

The difference is that I'm actually buying the games if they're worth it in my opinion.

You, on the other hand, are making money with pirated copies. If there is one kind of piracy that truly is criminal, then it surely is this one.
And, yeah, you uploaded all the stuff for all these years just because you're so selflessly generous... no wait, it's because UareAWESOME, right? Laughing

So lets get this right. He's a 'stealer', stealing from the 'stealers'? <-- lol WTF? Well I'm afraid the 'parasite' is no worse than ourselves at times Wink 'JB's 'dodgy' edits' included, as anyone else attempting to do the same thing will find it impossible to do so on here. But there ya go Smile

Just for the record though, and not taking anyone's side, who knows what is right when we all do wrong Wink

Making money of something someone else shared is criminal/wrong to me. It's the same to me as if I lend you my car for some time and you decided to sell it. Anyways, in the end it depends on someone's point of view on the subject.

As far as I know it would have to be via advertisement or redirect links at best (ad.fly or what it's called to name one.) but the income would be very minimal due to the high number of hits required for even earning like 1$ from what I remember, I might be wrong of course but it certainly does not seem very profitable to me.
(I don't remember the exact mechanics but it's usually a very high amount of hits for even just a few cents, of course the advertisement and website itself likely earns much more but that's how it always works.)

Can you make money off RS though? I thought one of the reasons they didn't shut down was because they didn't have the same kinds of systems in place as MU

There are a few differences between RS and MU. For one, RS does not hide who is behind the company but it's open for everybody to see. This does not affect the legal side of business but it at least paints a less dodgy image. Maybe that helps against prosecution. The other major difference is, stuff gets deleted on RS fairly rapidly once they find out it's illegal. AFAIK, MU didn't give a fart what people uploaded there but often times you will find dead RS links within a few days, sometimes even hours.

Actually, that was true for MU too. Although MU guys used a loophole that will now backfire on them on the trial.

finished the whole download, 10 Gb were finally very fast (600 Kb/s, nice). Installed it already, but indeed the date check will pass only tomorrow morning, as expected. Will try it tomorrow then.

Yeah the log files points to a release date check from the Origin servers even after you use the decrypted (SecuROM) exe file mentioned earlier, I don't know much else about it but I think this is some newly added protection form as I've never noticed it before, like say with Kingdoms of Amalur or Battlefield 3 to name two recent examples.

I don't know if it's global (If so it unlocks today in about seven and a half hour when the Asian regions start the unlocking of this game.) or if it's country or region specific which would require a VPN or just waiting until that date check is released. Smile

Game will launch now (And can thus be cracked.) has some pretty advanced options (EDIT: But only via ini tweaking it seems.) but it's not very stable so they're probably doing a day-0 patch tomorrow.
(Some C++ routine runtime error.)

EDIT: Aha
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms235560%28v=vs.80%29.aspx

EDIT: Also it is a FPS but at least they made it challenging though since I've never played it I have no way to compare against 1993 Syndicate.
(But there's many references to it.)

JBeckman, you unlocked this with a VPN? If so which region VPN works?
I have a copy of the game via Origin, just waiting to unlock.

The Bloom is strong with this one.

Still, fingers crossed for a good game (not paying that much attention to its title).

Yes it's any Asian VPN connection and yes again they use a rather strong amount of bloom and it does use D3D9 but this can be modified though I've not yet tried this, if OpenGL does function then lowering the bloom strength should be fairly easy as the shader files can be accessed. Smile
(And also yes I do buy too many games.)

EDIT: Speaking of modifying the game the C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Syndicate\Environment.cfg is fully adjustable, do consider changing SKIPINTRO to 1 as it will remove the initial logos but the main game intro video will still play when the game is started.
(Everything already seems to be as high as can be once you set the render mode from FP8 to FP16 but XR_MOTIONBLUR_DOF can be disabled should those effects be unwanted along with some other stuff like film grain.)

EDIT: Seems Skip Intro is not fully enough to kill the logo videos after all.

EDIT: Command console found. Very Happy

EDIT: Also since they've worked with the game engine since Riddick: Butcher Bay the frame rate is pretty much constantly around 80 to 90 which is nice. Smile

EDIT:

Everything is as high as can be set based on what I found in the config file and console commands but you can adjust AA and shadow quality, a texture quality sort of option and render mode (R8R8R8F8 or R8R8R8F16 or what they were called, 8 or 16 bit floating point precision I guess, lighting probably looks better when this is increased but I don't know what they use it for.) you can further set the usual difficulty and aim assist options and there's separate sliders for X and Y position mouse sensitivity.
(Can also set in and output microphone connection and the normal volume sliders.)

As the above images show further advanced commands can be done via the console (xr_ but I found nothing that needed to be adjusted.) and config file adjustments.
(There's a line for AA in the config file but it's disabled and the game relies on FXAA instead, I disabled that too since I use the SMAA injector.)

Also that smug looking guy from the early images? you don't play as him. Smile

(I will never manage to capture images via cutscenes without something looking off or completely wrong, that CEO or what he might be looks just weird here compared to how the in-game scene is.)
