The cut scenes are very well laid out , does it matter which partner do i choose ? Should i just keep investing credits on 2 partners ?

Usually can't be bothered with gears of derp-style games but this one is pretty good!
Mostly the story that is actually interesting to see unfold.
Character interaction is also excellent.
Gameplay is solid and bosses are sweet.

I must say I'm a bit disappointed with the gameplay, very basic (and imho a bit clunky) GOW cover-and-shooter with controls a bit too stiff.

Luckily, the story and epic boss fights make it worth playing. However I don't see where all the "perfect scores" are coming from... 7.5/10 for now imho, let's see if it gets better.

Ive finsiehd it . IT WAS GO DAMN AMAZING!!!!
Especially characters! BO is best god damn sidekick ever. I love cutscenes and story. Gameplay was a bit repetitive but thanks to good physics and very nice graphics (wtf. This is console) it was very enjoyable.

About the ENDING:

 Spoiler:

Now going to syndicate. Strong month. Darkness 2 and this and Syndicate

good to see people agree with me. This really was something different. Even with a bad story this game would at least be 8/10. But it had a good story and good cut scenes so still 9/10 from me xD

How's the voice recognition? Did anyone try it? If so using what...(regular headset, gaming headset etc.)

I've been busy replaying The Darkness but this is somewhat interesting...

i have to say, having seen only 1 trailer of this game over a year ago and being underwhelmed,
i went into this one expecting a barely passable experience, i was very wrong.
its simply an amazing game, typically japanese creativity meets western gameplay.
at first it looks like a gears clone, but shortly after it offers alot more,
a set-piece packed title with some unique elements and atmosphere and obvious
handiwork of the yakuza-team in the cutscenes - through a (for today´s standards) relatively long 10-hour campaign.
the story is some of the best in the genre (fps/tps) this gen, the dialogue is very hit and miss - some really dumb lines but also some great ones.
i enjoyed the gears of war games, but this one easily tops them on many levels, definitely my
early 2012 goty.

I just got the game yesterday, and started played the first chapter on "survivor" it was kinda hard so i guess im staying in the middle difficulty level... because the next chapters will get more intense im sure.

Yes. It can get pretty crazy later on. Nothing unmanagable but I think it might be frustrting on high difficulty

Tried it on my PS3 and I'm quite possitively surprised. The story and general atmosphere reminds me a lot of some cyberpunk'ish manga/anime, like Ghost in the Shell or Appleseed. Can't say why, it just does. Gameplay, on the other hand, feels very much like a western game (meaning, game made by a western developer, not western as in "western", with cowboys and everything Very Happy). Shooting has some kick and is quite fun. If I had to point out flaws, I would say the enemy types get a bit repetitive after a while. Also, but that is entirely a personal taste issue, I would like to have some kind of active abilities to use, aside from weapons (like, for example, I play a Vanguard in ME, while a Soldier generally bores me quickly). The game is still mightily fun, though.

Really agree about it feeling like a western game. And by doing so makes it the best japanese action game imo Smile
