That's the bugged version, you need 9.12.0203 added in the update in that article if you have that. Smile
(Some games still don't fully support this but they're being updated, Tribes:Ascend for example.)

Thanks!

That's funny. Because I've completed Batman: AC with this faulty release and I didn't encounter any issues. Very Happy

I was planning to reinstall them nevertheless but now I'll just upgrade to 295.73 WHQL.

The only game that was bugged with 9.11.1111 was the new Alice but still easily fixable by moving a few files around, not that it matters now.

I'm a bit surprised too, it's SecuROM with it's usual release date check and then Origin (But now with a release date check also which resembles SecuROM.) so unless something happened with the Origin "core" files used for activation it really shouldn't be harder for the current scene and non-scene groups to crack than the previous Origin games.

Of course I have very little experience with this and Origin is no doubt improving after each bypassed game but I probably know too little to understand the inner workings of these copy protection mechanics and how to best bypass them.
(Sure cracking the Origin "core" folder files - not the client, the files that the game uses for activation - could work and would probably not be too hard but it would be more like a bypass or loader than a fully reversed exe file but then again if so we should probably have seen a non-scene so called "p2p" modification by now.)

Hmm what could I say about the actual game, marketing is a bit inaccurate, you don't really have a squad at all and the change in direction and other modifications will likely be poorly received by the real Syndicate fans, I've been meaning to watch those Youtube "let's play" videos of it for some time but haven't gotten around to it, I did play some game called "Syndicate Wars" many many years ago but it's probably entirely unrelated.

Can't comment on weapons or abilities either, the abilities you get (The ones that you use actively that is.) are very powerful but recharge fairly slow so it's not too imbalanced though if you manage your character and "perks" in a very efficient way you can probably rely on them a lot more often, non-active skills or well abilities are just there and the dart vision while also powerful will drain very quickly, finding all hidden messages and such is also interesting but not really what it's designed for.
(There's a lot of these codex like entries and hidden messages to discover though they have little impact on the game as such but give some nice background info.)

You can also replay any of the 20 chapters after finishing them but will be returned to the main menu on completion, it also resets all spent character points but gives you the correct amount you would have at that time to spend at the start of the chapter and you keep all collected info entries.

There's a nice number of weapons as well but I can't compare to Syndicate, different fire modes also gives many of them interesting abilities and the heavy weapons are really effective but can't be used for that long before the ammunition is spent or you have to discard them.
(And as that above gauss gun comparison there's probably a number of tweaks to what weapon types was in 93 Syndicate and what they're doing in this game.)

Unsure what else to say, I liked the game as a above average current generation FPS but no doubt many will dislike the new direction they took with the franchise and other aspects of the game.
(Game engine is solid but not much is exposed for the player to adjust or tinker with though most things in the config are set as high as can be, console commands seem a bit difficult to interact with too aside from the ones you toggle by entering them several times, need to try harder to activate these and find more useful CVars, messing around with fly mode or god-mode is neat after beating the game but otherwise of little use, hiding the HUD is also nice for taking screens or getting rid of all those little menus but it's not fully playable with the HUD disabled such as hiding subtitles - some dialogue is a bit obscured so even if you have a very good understanding of the language it might be hard to hear some of the lines in the game - and some other interaction menus are hidden too although many things are also kept even with the player HUD disabled such as object identification and interaction possibilities while others such as ammo and weapon indicators disappear.)

If you're very good at shooters it probably won't be too challenging other than the hard difficulty level either, body shots also require a fair amount of hits while you die very quickly so aiming for the head or using abilities becomes more important but I liked the challenge it presented, unsure about total playtime but around eight hours or so but I missed a lot of the hidden messages and such.
(Not that much replayability either otherwise but co-op and that will likely be fun if the player community keeps active and hopefully any issues are patched out but we'll see how the game will be supported now post-launch.)

EDIT: Oh right there's some gore and such in the game too albeit it's nothing complex but you can burn characters, perform finishing moves (Only way to use H2H which is a bit poor.) and there's a number of ways to dismember enemies on, animations when using powers are also pretty cool as they kinda go insane or how to best describe it, bullet decals and such too but that's standard these days.

Yeah I'd say it would be worth a download at least, been giving some impressions as I play the game but I am very accepting and forgiving usually (Have tried to improve somewhat but not fully succeeded at this, heh.) so my opinion alone is not always something to go by, game file size also means a download only to find out you hate the game might be a problem with slow speeds or capped bandwidth, unfortunate that they did not do a demo of say one of the missions or a co-op mission for the PC version, it would have helped a lot.
(Even if demos are often biased they're still useful.)

(Gameplay videos and other peoples opinions and such feedback along with reviews and such are also very worthwhile but might conflict with your own opinions and all that of course.)

I see you often post comments about protection like this. You find protection files similar to those you found in previous games and compare that way, but that means almost nothing. Protections can look similar from outside but under the hood most of protection code might be changed and groups once again have to figure it out from scratch.
