THE PLAYER is out for a friendly frolic of CRIME CAPERS when suddenly ambushed by EVIL GOOD GUYS. They will stop at nothing to end his RAMPAGE OF DOOM threatening the citizens of Theftropolis City. Are YOU bad enough to defeat the EVIL GOOD GUYS?
RETRO CITY RAMPAGE lets you play as THE PLAYER. Take the wheel with five-finger discounts on over 30 vehicles and wield over 20 weapons that will make you say "WHOA"! Run down innocent pedestrians to hear the magnificent monophonic modulated sounds. Order a pint of "SOUR MILK" from the barkeep to make yourself sick and avoid taking responsibility for your actions. At some point, defeat the EVIL GOOD GUYS then relax and go do it, when you want an ICED TEA.
Wait, what...?
A parody of the open-world action genre, Retro City Rampage takes modern game mechanics and mashes them into an authentic 8-bit experience.
Equal parts fast paced arcade action and an epic mission based story mode, it's all the driving and shooting you'd expect and a whole lot more! With missions that twist pages straight from classic game experiences, you get to re-live and rewrite history in a way only a modern anti-hero could!
When it comes to enemies, weapons are only the beginning! Put on your boots and jump on their heads! Toss 'em around to knock the rest down! Become truly unstoppable with awesome power-ups!
Through its world, characters and missions, Retro City Rampage lampoons the entire 8-bit era --from its games to the TV, movies and pop culture!

Man, this game looks THE SHIT! I'm having multiple nerdgasms just thinking of getting my grubby little mitts on this .. and it's only FIFTEEN BUCKS! Fuck yeah! It looks all kinds of fun and the chiptune sound is awesome too They're even selling it on VINYL! Ahahaha $15 well spent methinks (and hopes.. though honestly, how can this fail?) I just wish I could justify spending forty bucks on the vinyl sound track too, I'd buy that in a heartbeat if I actually had $40 to spare... oh and an LP player
Been waiting for this for 7 years, ever since it was Grand Theftendo (would still love a chance to try the original NES version). So excited that it's finally coming out, and on PC, with such a great distribution deal. It's amazing how much it's grown. Serious GOTY potential, here. And, aside from the music (and the musician line-up is amazing. Virt is writing music for this thing, which is worth the price alone) and an assistant pixel artist, it's all the work of one guy. Amazing.
Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.
Expected Release Date...
The game is complete, just final bug fixes and paperwork holding it back.
A release window should be announced within the next couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience!
" thanks for your patience. It's going into certification as we speak. It also contains much more content than was announced at the time of preorders and I will be adding more preorder bonuses once it's through certification."
This game...just reminds me of an old arcade machine..it was a 2D sidescroller platformer..the protagonist looked a bit younger than the black clothed guy from this topic's header..but dresses exactly the same...dunno if he weared dark glasses or not..
The environment was from fairy tales or something and it was greatly done..
Does anybody knows wich arcade am i talking about?..

Retro City Rampage
I appreciate everyone's patience, and would like to greatly thank those who have pre-ordered for PC. Note that due to the delay, the game has far more content than originally announced when pre-orders opened. Over 60 story missions, over 50 vehicles, over 40 arcade challenges, additional minigames/crossovers/cameos and more.
Additional pre-order bonuses will be added as certification winds down (too swamped at the moment to put that together).
If you haven't heard, PC pre-orders from RetroCityRampage.com now net you the DRM-Free copy, AND either a Steam key -OR- a GOG key as well.
Also, if you haven't heard, Retro City Rampage will be Cross Buy on PS3/Vita. Buy one, get the other for free
Sheesh Zeel, cut the number of elephants already! You're wrecking the page layout and it makes reading posts a pain in the ass.
@SpykeZ
To be honest, while I understand his point of view about trolls and hateful comments, he has to remember that people have PAID for a product, paid for a product that they haven't received and that the developer talks about sporadically at best. Trolls are scummy pieces of filth, but developers - even indie ones - have got to realise that once money has changed hands, people are going to get more and more irritated as time goes by without information.
Now we have this certification and "it's out of my hands" bullshit, which means those of us who bought and paid for the PC version, now have to sit and twiddle our thumbs waiting on Sony and Microsoft to put the game out on XBLA/PSN/Vita/etc. I have no doubt the game will be worth it, it's just silly to have this constant wait and no updates.
