I'm all for giving developers many chances to prove themselves, and until they don't do something "evil" (let's call it that now, shall we?) I'll keep supporting them. CDP has done only good things in my book so far, and as long as my gameplay doesn't take a hit due to them making games for consoles as well, I'm for it.
Well, Witcher 2 was already a console-ready game. If that's the quality of products they're going to pump out, then I really don't care wheter they're multiplatform or not, esspecially since it'll not only mean more money for them, but also a lot more recognition.

Very true, I agree.
The devs themselves confirmed it several times in the past:
Quote:
Tomek Gop: "Right now we're making a PC version of the game. The main concern we've taken was to make sure our engine would be capable of doing a console game as well."
Quote:
Jan Bartkowicz: “You can play The Witcher 2 with joypad – it’s implemented. The whole interface is designed with console in mind, in fact”
I feel kinda optimistic about The Witcher 3 , but who knows, maybe the console audience will find the game too hard, the sales will be bad...and CD Projekt will have to make everything more accessible and streamlined
It's safe to say that if the sale numbers appeal to microsoft, they'll buy the studio, like they did with countless other studios before. I really hope not, but it's the world we live in.

The majority of console only gamers will be overwhelmed from the start of the game. Many of them found Demons Souls extremely difficult. It wasn't an easy game but not a very tough one.

I don't think so. CD Project as a whole is not really that small, and they also publish titles in Poland and a few other countries, I believe. Not to mention that in these parts of Europe, PC gaming is still a whole lot more popular than consoles. Going to bed with M$ would not work well for them at all.
I finished this gem a few weeks ago and was definitely impressed with just about everything it offered.
Unfortunately, due to my back and forth playing of the whole game, the story was not cohesive to me at all as I had forgotten key points and characters in between breaks of playing. By the end, I was a confused mess and had no idea what had really happened hehe. My own fault for sure and I'll play through it again to hopefully understand better.
One thing I really liked and was taken aback on was the fact that this world is gritty and downright, "bad". People don't look out for you at all and just because you take the "good" route, it doesn't always work out like you'd expect it to (based on other game experiences I mean). It's arguably just better to be an "ass" about how you approach everything cuz being the "hero" just isn't the way all the time.
The above paragraph is what really made me realize just how shallow most other games stories are or can be. This one was really good and looked gorgeous to boot.
Bought this on GOG to make sure they got most of the money.
You can always read the quest journal, it summarizes all the events from the bard's POV and is pretty well written (at least in Polish).
Ah yeah. I forgot about that.
Side note: was it just me, or was the 3rd chapter (or final area or whatever) really short? I think I only did 2-3 quests in that area (although I had more, I locked myself out of them by progressing the story too much) but I think there were only 2-3 I missed that were from the contract board. Sound right?
Yea, it's certainly quite short. A lot of people were disappointed because they expected a full blown chapter of the same length as 1 and 2. Personally, I think it's preferable to padding the length with fetch quest or endless dungeon mazes like many other RPGs do. At least the story had a satisfying conclusion.
Fantastic PC (and soon Xbox 360) RPG, The Witcher 2, sold 1,110,055 copies last year, developer CD Projekt Red has revealed.
Of those copies, 270,000 were sold via digital distribution platforms: 40,000 on GOG.com, which leaves the lion's share of the remainder presumably to Steam (numbers not disclosed).
But most "remarkable" to CDPR managing director Adam Badowski, was that 401,543 copies of The Witcher 1 were sold last year.

See, CDPR updates their games with significant content... and gives it all away, free of charge, to those that bought the original game. Are you paying attention, Flying Wild Hog? Are you? Because if you think I'm PAYING for the "Extended Edition" content, you're grossly mistaken.
About 4hrs of additional gameplay contained in 2 new adventures (including new characters, new locations and new quests), redesigned 3rd act and over 36mins of new cinematics. Not bad!
Sometimes they really had to cut the graphics detail down to make it run on Xbox360:
but usually it still looks suprisingly good:
(Screens captured from that video.)
"Anatidaephobia is the fear that somewhere in the world there is a duck watching you."
Fuck Polish government for oppressing women!
"People are such awful conversationalists that they’ll interrupt you when you’re answering a question they asked."
Yeah, it's not THAT bad on the derpbox even though they basically dropped the texture quality down of a couple of notches, as well as the lod distance and shadow quality.
I think it's basically like the PC version on low details/720p

Sorry if this was disguised, but im kinda lazy to read. Will this Enhanced Edition new gameplay be available for PC users? Like with patch or something.

Yes, in April. It will be in the form of a free patch.
