actually for tin tin you need to be a fan since the pace/story/everything else is from the origin. so if you hadn't experienced tin tin before, you may find it boring and useless. and it's a good movie as well. so... you... hush up.

I'd give tintin 9/10, I was thoroughly entertained. I expected a kids movie, but with all the shooting, chasing and drinking it was excellent. Also the character animation was done damn well, I loved all the tiny gestures and facial details they all had.

Also some of the action sequences were amazing, I am so looking forward to future animation films... there was a chase sequence through some arabic town, and I think it went on for 3-5 minutes with only one single camera movement following the characters from a driving scene where the captain inadvertantly blows up a dam with a rocket launcher, through a town with the usual crashing through fruit stands and walls, running through buildings and on rooftops, being chased by a tank all the way to the towns harbor where there finally is a cut.

Stuff like that really is only possible with animation, and I hope this takes off. All the cuts they do in action movies to hide that the actors can't be arsed to rehearse fighting sequences annoy me to no end.

Hugo 7/10
It's rather a 10-3 than a 7. I really liked the acting, the photography, the direction, but I expected much more from the story.

The adventures of Tintin 10/10

By far the greatest CGI movie I have ever seen ( and trust me I've seen some CGI's in my time Cool Face / Owls of Ga'Hoole was pretty good too in terms of quality )

The quality is overwhelming, same as with animations and textures.

tintin 8/10

great realisation of the cartoon, no doubt. But downside is (inevitable, since Hergé is dead), is that its "old" material (i read every single tintin, in french !) so the suspense is gone, since i knew from the get go what would happen etc (i kinda had the images of the comics in my head while watching hehe).

But still a masterpiece and glad to see they stuck so close to the original (kinda rare to see a movie made out of a comic/books in general, turn out so true to the source Smile )

The Artist - 9/10

The story was completely cliche (seems like it was intentionally) but the cinematography, art direction, music, acting were simply superb. Plus they are dancing some charleston that i am currently learning. Really enjoyed it.

Yes, the story was definitely cliche on purpose. The nightmare scene is one of the best ever though Laughing

very good movie. the cinematography was outstanding. the editing was also top notch. older movies tend to be slower in pace but this one was fast paced and edited very well.
good acting, suspense and a stunning female lead.
9/10

next up is Psycho Smile

Brothers and sisters, the end is near. The first sign is upon us: Laurentiu499 shows decent taste for movies. Those who don't believe shall suffer eternal damnation in hell, those who praise the lord will live happily ever after in heaven when the world comes to an end in 2012. The signs will reveal themselves as mankind twists into madness, showing the whole world the truth. Believe, and you shall be saved!

Really well made movie and while I might not have been the biggest Tintin fan as a kid I did enjoy the movie a lot. It could have been a bit longer maybe but then again since they have planned more movies I'm ok with this

Touching and "real" without being overdramatic (thanks to a superb Clooney), with very slow pace and guaranteed emotional impact; not for everybody but definitely a really good movie.

Every once in a while a movie comes out that really makes you feel good and this is one of my favorite "sunday Evening" movies ever ... also helps if you ever visited Hawaii and know some of their culture. I actually might watch it again. I can't believe the hypstermatic artist won the best film ... fail oscars
