Where did they say that they reduced the script size? I know they initially said it would have almost as many dialogue lines as ME1+ME2, plus the amount of writers was also increased.

ME2 had horrible pacing. It was like an endless series of side quests going from planet to planet recruiting squad members and the side quests for those sidequests and then bam main quest the end.

It has a pacing of TV show (each episode new squad member, or loyalty mission, with only pilot, half season break and finale have anything to do with main plot).

Unlike ME1, which feels like theatrical movie (in regard of pacing).

Holy shit son, you must be retarded.

You know what is a expectation right?

Quote:
expectations plural of ex·pec·ta·tion (Noun)
Noun:
A strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future.
A belief that someone will or should achieve something.

We strong believe that the game will not be good as were Me1 and Me2. Believing in something dont actually make that thing true (see god, if you still have troubling understanding that), for what we have seen it is 'dumbed down'.

"...The demo, previews and teaser trailers released so far have done nothing to convince me it's anything but an even more dumbed down ME2... "

It's more pew pew, explosions, linear corridor of awesome.

Anyway, in all seriousness.. I'm not getting at you scouse (maybe joking around a little bit, but I don't mean any offence) - if YOU think ME3 is going to be great, then so be it. If YOU think ME2 was better than ME1, again; so be it. That is just opinion at the end of the day though and while you are entitled to yours, so are we entitled to ours. I have seen enough, and played via the demo, to believe that the game will be even further streamlined (which I take to be dumbed down) from Mass Effect 2, something that already did away with a great deal of complexity from the first game.

I haven't forgotten the "boring exploration planet missions from ME1", I actually want those back.

But from the galaxy map video posted a few pages back they apparently manage to dumb ME2 already simple planet scanning even further, proving that biowarEA really manages to achieve the impossible! Laughing

Expectation is based on (at least should) on logic, if something always fail, you expect that it will fail again.

If you like something, you will build expectations, your expectation is that it will be good as ME2, or at least better (even if you deny it).

There is a guy named Robert King something (will check later), he is a Socialist and a Writer, there is a good book of him about the subject in question.

Answering, "stupid", without actually saying anything about the argument itself its a fallacy. Yes, i did called you stupid, but that was not my argument. It was my interpretation of your own actions, and you prove it by replying "Huh ? are you stupid ?".

Anyway, im just losing my time here since i have nothing better to do today.

I dont have anything against you, but i do have against what you said.

Thats why im never disappointed by things that i dont care, but i will be disappointed by things that i care.

We should probably stop (but it would be a nice conversation), mods will get here and will be like: STAY ON THE TOPIC!!111!!!

I think i never said that, but, ME3 Multiplayer is actually good, tons of upgrades, classes, weapons, powers...

Oh what a relief, i was worried that ME3 will be a complex game full of buttons and options, im glad they made it so "hard" that now even my unborn child and my non existing (*Forever Alone*) wife can play it while they do other stuff, like nothing at all !

I dont care if you think i am stupid , i dont care if anybody thinks my replies are stupid , dumb or absolutely amazing ,they're just replies in a thread about something of relatively NO importance whatsoever tbh , its a game , i dont give a shit one way or another until i actually play it which is when i will decide whether if its amazing a massive let down or just "meh"
As for Robert King , i dont have a clue who that is nor do i care lol ive got this far in life ( wife two kids two cars paid off mortgage ) without knowing who he or 6 billion other people on the planet are lol so what he or anybody else thinks of expectation doesnt bother me in the slightest , nor will it interest me tomorrow or the day after or the day after , no matter what you or anybody else thinks i have no real expectation of what the actual game will be like , i have avoided as much in the way of vids and the demo as i can and i mostly read/post in these threads because i enjoy reading the banter or because ive bought the game and cant understand why i cant carry two simple torches.

Anyway.........

I have no bad feeling towards you or anybody , to me this is a pub conversation and all meant in either pure seriousness or pure jest you can take your pick it doesnt matter to me either way its all good fun.

just for the quote though

Expectation is based on (at least should) on logic, if something always fail, you expect that it will fail again.

Science is fucked then.

ME2 was dumbed down me1. that is true, but it was still a great game.

I still think ME1 is better, becouse it seems to have darker tone and that 60' scifi feel.
I liked those empty planet. Side missions were terrible and planets were empty, but they were still nice too look at. Also the rover felt like it should be. It was floaty ...like on low gravity planet:P Rover and planets were absolutly optional. Maybe 2 or 3 places where You had to drive it.
Scanning in ME2 was terrible. Why would anyone need that? If ceerberus is so rich then why do I have to scavange those damn planets, couldn't the illusive man just send the money...
At least they speeded up the planet scanning with 1.02 patch for me2...

It's a runtime memory cost, not a disk space issue. You need those anims for the non-combat areas... so they're going to be on disk regardless.

In order to support exploration in the combat areas, you'd need to have all the anims loaded in memory... so that would be things like the 8-way walks, runs, incline anims, idles, idle twitches, male/female variant overrides, eye noise... etc.

All in all (iirc) it came out to around 2-4MB, which is relatively significant. Also, as you've guessed, yes - I'm referring to the main game (as well as the demo).

It freed 2-4MB Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

this is the most fucked up thing I've ever heard. You could holster in me1 and 2... so they lost their minds or what? Laughing
I hate to run with gun up in games like that. (they should bring back sword tricks from kotor back!)
