Fix I found on a forum

"- You must enter the Wargame game directory inside Steam\steamapps\common\wargame european escalation\ and open the file install.dat with the wordpad. You only must change the number 685234 to this other : 199285 and save the file."

Fixed!

You must enter in the game directory inside steamapps/common, and open the file install.dat with the notepad.
You can change the number 685234 to this 199285 and save the file.

Now i can choose any languaje again inside the game.

If it were a simple serial check I think it'd have been properly cracked already. Starforce could very well explain the delay. Either that or some other heavy shit.

it doesn't install any driver or anything (verified with filemon)... rootkit whatever, you are too paranoid Smile

Did anyone notice this game installing any third party driver/file?

you enter the serial in steam and it activates.
everything goes through Steam.

It must be Steam + some kind of nasty encryption + VM for the EXE.

reminds me of those old jowood titles that used SecuROM DRM over some EXE's encrypted with SVKP and other EXE packers.

you can't blame the small studio to try to protect itself from a 0day crack and try to sell a few units of the game to survive in this difficult economy for PC gaming!

game is nice but hardcore... clearly more for the total annhiliation fans than the C&C fans!

great game.

played some multiplayer and some campaign and I'm really enjoying both.
it really is like a more realistic world in conflict, which is a good thing imo.
one of the most annoying things about WiC were the support powers where if you were unlucky or whatever your entire force might get wiped out in a second. that was just frustrating.
here there is no such thing so it's a much more strategic game where you try to use cover, range and line of sight to your advantage all the time. it's really exiciting.

the single player missions are a lot of fun too. it's really cool to have your units gain experience and carry over to subsequent missions in the relative campaign (if they survive anyway).
that makes me really care about them so much more and try my best to be efficient and safe.

you really have a lot of freedom too in how you tackle these missions. you just have those broad objectives like.. take a city.. but how you get there and how you attack it is all up to you.
where it gets really interesting is the bonus objectives that are often set up in a way to put you under pressure.

for example there is one mission where you attack a city or something, and once you get that done you get a bonus objective to complete the whole mission in 30 minutes, but at the time like 19 minutes had already passed for me. so then it was a crazy rush to get it done in time but you still have to balance it out with caution or you might run into a trap and lose too many units.
in the end I finished the mission at 29 minutes 57 seconds and it was awesome Smile

well worth the money so far!

Huh ??

The reason this game is so good is how tactical it is.. no other online RTS even comes close

This is a VERY rare game in terms of others like it.. and it defines why PC gaming > Consoles

that's scary. you sent a scan of your ID to some ukrainian pirate "dealing" cheapo CIS Steam keys to westerners? : )

Soon you will be opening an ebay + paypal account and you'll be selling many more things Smile

i think you are right though. IF the game is worth it (and only IF) better buy it on Steam, this way you make sure the money goes to the right pocket (the developer).
If you buy a polish or ukrainian serial number, most of the money goes to the local mafia... rather than the froggies dev from Eugen.

my tip to buy cheap games from legit sources : dvd.co.uk , play.com etc ...

Yes, wasn't happy about it - blanked out everything apart from picture and name on driving license I remember g2play starting to do it a couple of years back seems standard with a few of the key shops now due to games being purchased with stolen paypal accounts.

He solve my problem and compensate me Devil Troll
