@ Twinny So by this tweaking you forced ME3 to see ME2 saves, right?

I'm finally trying to play through ME2. I found my old saves but it's been so long that I didn't remember much and didn't want to start over 20 hours into it. I still don't like it compared to the first one. And the interface is...shit. Still, I'm going to try to finish it and then, maybe, I'll give ME3 a shot if I'm bored with everything else Very Happy

I already read somewhere else that Mass Effect 3 has it build in the main game it self, so yeah i forced it now but it is not needed. Crying or Very sad

It still has to talk to the server to decrypt. Bonus points: When you do this, it says something like "Production Activation: (long key)". This can be entered as a valid CD key, which nets you the "game isn't out yet, fuck off" message that the release date check gets you, instead of "invalid serial".

This indicates to me that SecuROM is probably only being used for release date security since it probably won't require a serial number for activation.

Great... I lost my saves and I can't find a good enough save on MEsaves.com. I wonder if I can find the time for 60 hours of ME1+ME2 (full play). Is there a faster way to blitz through it?

I really hate the space bar problem. You skip the dialogue but if you accidentally press it too much you will press a dialogue choice.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

@yuri

Just grab a crappy endgame ME2 save from MEsaves.com and then use the modified Gibbed Editor to adjust the game to your liking Wink you can change everything from gender, class, stats, paragon/renegade... right down to the real meaty stuff like plot flags from both ME1 and ME2.

Awesome

Of course! Good think I bookmarked that link you posted a couple of pages back for the ME save editor. Thanks for the idea!

Lol, the high res character textures alone for ME2 are over 470mb in size.
And they axed around half of the post-effects.

No no, read my post that I linked to, texture archive is ~500 MB and the character textures are around ~470 MB, they're separated but the textures are still probably quite bad judging by Mass Effect 2 and it's visuals and how these files are near identical in size.
(And there's a slightly larger file for lightning but I don't quite know what it does.)

Seems correct, there's a epilogue video (perfect ending only?) that really reminded me of something like that.

This is a good read.

I read this, and:
1. Udina is the Councillor no matter what? - fuck you BioWare, where's my choice about the ending of ME1?
2. The illusive man gets data about reaper tech no matter if you keep or destroy their tech at the end of ME2 - fuck you BioWare, where's my choice about the ending of ME2?

Choices my buttocks, illusion of choices, tops!

Honestly, the illusion of choices in ME has been destroyed since ME2 came out. No major choices and some amout of variables, depending on how much time you wasted finding resources.

One thing's for sure, the last game would be a big fuck you to all the loyal fans, buying every piece of overpriced dlc Biowhore ever produced.

I could remember years before the release of ME1, watching all the developers dairy on my xbox 360... It seems like it would be the best game ever to be released. They showed the star map, my mind was blown, massive amount of stars each with countless planets to explore. Graphics where mind-boggling, facial animations was wtf unreal.

Half year before the release the devs were saying "main quest 40h of gameplay" (straightout lie rofl), mind was blown again.

When I finally got to play ME1, it was like wtf am I playing Mind Is Full Of Fuck Stupid vehicles, bland pointless planet explorations.
But without the hype it was defintely an above average RPG.
