Planescape: Torment, Temple of Elemental Evil and Icewind Dale 1 and 2 are now in the Steam Registry. Definite D&D Complete coming.

I wonder how well they will all work with mods though. Won't Steam be in the way of all the unofficial mods, tweaks and patches that have been released for those games (and are pretty much essential to be able to enjoy them at this time)?

Don't know... That's why I'm not sure I'll even buy them on Steam. I would imagine that mods'll be workable, even if it's something like Deus Ex's texture pack, which requires the disabling of auto-updates and a tweaked exe. It would seem to me a very bad idea to not allow mods, considering how much they add, but stranger things have happened.

The games would be completely useless on Steam if they didn't support mods at all. Especially ToEE.

BG2 followup in the Infinity Engine? I wonder who owns the license to BG these days...

I suppose that game (Baldur's Gate) needs a serious work to works normally in Win7 64bit in widescreen.

I wonder if they'll ruin Baldur's Gate III.
Quote: | Yesterday a teaser site went live with the trademark grimacing skull, some music, and background art from the classic series. Eurogamer found some additional clues in the source code.
Shadowy Figure- Raise Dead : Infinity Engine.
For years, I clung to the memory of it. Then the memory of the memory.
And then... it returned. Better than it was before.
Pore over the tapestries and works of art hanging from our walls if you wish, Child of Bhaal... perhaps you will find a clue. But patience, ah... patience would reveal it all.
As the silver moon waxes and wanes, so too does life.
The studio behind the site has been confirmed to be Beamdog a company co-founded by an ex BioWare employee, Trent Oster. Beamdog has confirmed an official announcement is forthcoming, and that this teaser page doesn't have anything to do with the rumored Steam re-release of the original games. Adding to the credibility that it will be a brand new Baldur’s Gate game, Atari said in 2008 that they planned to revisit Baldur’s Gate, D&D, Neverwinter Nights, and Test Drive Unlimited. Stay tuned for further updates! |

Why would it be BG3 just because it's not the re-release on Steam?

Maybe it's not even going to be a true BG game...maybe it will be a Dark Alliance sequel, or some crap that just uses the BG name as a cash in.

BG:DA series is far from "crap" but it's more of a console game. sadly, even Dragon Age so far didn't proved to work that well on consoles without "dumbing it down" at some degree

I played DA:O on 360 and thought it was fine, sure I would have preferred it on PC if I had one at the time but I was just happy to be able to play it in any way.

Again, what makes this interesting is the mention of Infinity Engine.. Why use that for something like a new Dark Alliance BG?

Laaame... at least if they had compiled all the games into one single installement like BWP, upped the resolution like widescreen mod etc. it actually would make sense.
"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."
