Ok i might have missed this since the last mass effect games.
Buuut, start new, you got no points to use on skills.
Import a saved file from ME2 and you got like 50 fucking points to use on skills.
W T F? its supposed to be that way? feels like a cheat.

The difficulty is higher for imported characters, compared to new ones. Also it was kind of the same with ME2. You started at level 5 if you imported from ME1.

Anger is an emotion, right? | True, but isn't a (or shouldn't it be) a reviewer's job to evaluate a game more by it's merits than by how emotional he feels about it?
Not saying it should be done by a robot, but how much of that emotion ended up pouring into a 10/10 review?
Meh.

I haven't played the last three DLCs for Mass Effect 2 (Overlord, Lair of the Shadow Broker & Arrival). Should I?
Will I be missing out that much? Or is not worth, in my case, the re-downloading of the game and the DLCs? Should I just bypass them and go straight forward to ME3? |

| I think Arrival is the most significant story-wise (even if it's story presentation is utter shit), but you definitely should play Shadow Broker and at least give overlord a try.

The thing is that they actually provide you with more details if you've played say Arrival than if you start a new game. I noticed that Anderson says something along the lines of For what you've done someone else would have been court marshalled bla bla bla. But if you import a save with Arrival he actually details what happened to the Batarians.
Shouldn't it actually be the other way around to help new players?

Oh, I totally agree. Gaming reviews need to learn a lot from literary and film reviews, where the reviewer can emotionally experience something, but also detach themselves from the product enough to say "Objectively, this is a good/bad piece of work, because of X." |
The problem is that if the big gaming sites start actually giving bad scores to high profile games from big publishers, the publishers will just stop sending them early copies, and the biggest sites are driven by getting out early reviews to get more hits.
Oh well, people should've learned by now not to blindly trust every reviewer.

I can say one thing after playing 2 hours straight.
This is the best Mass effect game ever it combines all good what we had in 1 and 2 parts.Period.
And probably the best Rpg in decades.

Yup. I know. Don't get me started man. It didn't used to be like this. I plan to actually start a blog/website soon, to rant about this kind of thing. Fuck this industry man - it needs to change.
On the flip-side, it's the perfect material for a little gaming group that's happening in Sheffield. Once a month, the group goes to a pub, drinks beer (or cider) and talks about games and gaming. People are free to give talks... Guess what my talk is going to be about.
