This just might be the first racing game i'm going to skip. My god..
What, you actually got through Dirt 3?
On a more serious note: this looks more interesting than Dirt 3 because unlike that one, it doesn't profile itself as a rally game or anywhere near realistic (yet) - instead, I'm getting a lovely Destruction Derby-ish vibe from it
Was just about to say, this doesn't look to bad of a game, but for gods sake, don't call it Dirt... Call it something in style of Destruction derby (fuck the fun i had with the Destruction derby on the PSX )

Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 aren't even worth the budget bin price (and the first one is not as enjoyable as the old CMR's either). GRID I found highly enjoyable. It's not a sim, but it's also not arcade in the sense that you can just bounce off everything and still win.
Neither is worth buying in my opinion. Everybody may love GRID, but I don't. I played it for some time, but I didn't really enjoy the game and got bored of it quite quickly. The way they managed the campaign mode was kind of nice though.
As for the DiRT games in general, I agree with Werelds. They're all worse than the true CMR games. The best one was CMR 2005 in my opinion. There's a difference between me and Werelds though. I enjoyed DiRT 2 the most out of the 3 DiRT games.

It looks fine to me. They clearly don't want to make rally games anymore so I don't expect such a thing from Codemasters anymore and I'd rather have that than another DeRP 3.

UK-based Publisher and developer Codemasters have given up making shooters, choosing instead to focus on racing games. The company have launched a new publishing label – Codemasters Racing – that will be responsible for putting out Codemasters’ upcoming games. They include the inconsistently capitalised but consistently good DiRT rally series, and the similarly speedy official F1 games.
Codemasters’ comms chief Rich Eddy clarified the change to MCV. “In racing, we are number two in Europe and that’s not good enough. Racing is our DNA, it is our heritage, it is our specialisation and it is our absolute focus going forward.” No clues as to where that leaves Dizzy in this shakeup.
DiRT Showdown will be the first gAmE (that’s how you do it, right?) to be released under the new imprint. The change is surely a good move for the publisher. They’re pack leaders in the racing oeuvre, but recent forays out of it haven’t met with much success. A focus of assets and resources on the games they’re best at makes sense.
After Red River can't say it's a bad news, not good either though, and this games proves it

The demo for #dirtshowdown launches May 1st on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC (Steam). Counting down the days till Showdown!
