I agree, the fact that some of us have first generation 2003 steam accounts. You would think they would at least give us oldschoolers a key...

There's an open beta coming for that. Obviously they aren't ready yet to support so many players/track bug reports from so many players.

Yea I remember signing up for a steam account when the beta upgrade for counter strike launched (with the ridiculous riot shield) when steam launched, still no key.

Why do people feel they are entitled to beta key because they have old date on their account creation?
its like reading WoW forums of people who deserve beta key because they created account launch date.

I'm the same, my account is from 2004; I only opened and started using Steam when HL2 came out - since it was the first and only game to actually require it.

Hehe exactly the same here, account activated back in 2004 when I bought the boxed HL2 (+CSS) 
Loyal old time customers are useless, they need to attract the fresh new ones

I've been using steam most likely since it was first available, that would be around 2002-2003 I think, when the beta for 1.6 was up and I was still playing in 1.5 tournaments.
Let's hope this beta for CS:GO comes sooner than later.

My friend who is not even interested much in CS:GO just had the game appear in his games list. And he doesn't even like it after trying it out.

He should have two copies, and they both should be tradeable. Have him trade you one.

lol my steam account its from when steam was in beta, and when you opted into to try steam out you were able to play the CS 1.6 beta patch.

I guess they are targeting the newer people aka people who haven't played CS 1.6/CSS. Sure they've sent invites to these people as well but the majority I feel have been sent to the COD/BF players who've not played any Counterstrike.
1 and 2 are still amazing.
