Real story behind "from ashes" dlc.

-Doc: MARTY! MARTY!!!
-What is it Doc?
-Finally the work on dlc for Mass Effect 3 is done!
-Ah... Are you telling me that you built a dlc... out of a game content?
-The way I see it, if you're gonna build a dlc into a game, why not do it with some cut content?
-But Doctor... The game is going to stores tomorrow...
-Great Scott!!! We have to rewind the time continuum to prevent the game from shipping without that dlc!
-That is a perfect idea doc. I am setting the time course on a delorean.
-Now, remember - according to my theory, you interfered with customers and rage first time when we released ME2. If they don't meet with our dlc, they won't fall in love, they won't get "married" and they won't have our game. You have to repair the damage and implement that dlc!
-Sounds pretty heavy.
-Weight has nothing to do with it.
-You're right. But uh...EA just happens to be my supervisor, and I'm afraid, I'm just not very good at... doing money for them.
-I'm sure that in 2012 downloadable content is available for every game, so You won't have a problem with selling it. Good luck Marty.

after releasing game with Dlc added:

-Doc: What on Earth's this thing I'm wearing?
-Ah, this, this is a radiation suit.
-Radiation suit? Of course, because of all the rage from the fan wars.

Just finished the game. Actually enjoyed it. Ending was, well, different Razz, but I'm not disappointed as I knew it was going to end the series anyway.

Remember when this was the nforce forums, and people laughed at you if you complained about graphics?

Also; lol, people crying about DLC as if they had to pay for it.

Just finished it and the ending was such a damn joke... And yes, ending, not endings, since it's basically the same thing with the "explosion" having a different color. Laughing

A shame really, this could have been a properly good game. I found it way more enjoyable than ME2 overall, but as I said before, I consider it a worse game. They took some unecessary design decisions ending with an even more streamlined game (especially on the narrative part) and on top of all that they rushed it too (and it's so damn obvious!). They seem to want a lot of money by working as less as possible on their games, games which now seem to take 1 year to be made, if even that.

I agree with the streamlined endings, but on the other hand--this was much longer than Mass Effect 2..

No, it wasn't. It was just as long: 38 to 39 hours. I played them exactly the same, doing everything I could.

No, I meant 38 to 39 hours with just the DLC that was available near the release of the game (for both games). ME2 with all DLC took me around 47 hours if I remember right.

Ah well.. Felt longer for some reason, though I did restart after getting to..
 Spoiler:

so that probably had an impact on while it felt longer Razz. Played an infiltrator instead of a Soldier... realized there wasn't really a point since every class could equip all weaps.

Since I'm ultra lazy to go about searching for the first game's thread, in what order should I install the game, its patches and the available DLC (it's about ME1)?

Yeah so fuck it. Gave this a shot with my 'standard' edition and it works.

Definitive proof that the "From Ashes" DLC character is on the disc:

1. Open Coalesced.bin with this http://wenchy.net/me3-coalesced-utility

2. Search for this:
MemberValidCID=22, MemberAvailablePlotLabel=IsSelectableProthean,

3. Replace with this:
MemberValidCID=, MemberAvailablePlotLabel=,

That's it. Javik the Prothean is now unlocked. "From Ashes" not required.

Yanked from here:

I don't think you need the patch. From what I remember, Pinnacle Station has it included.

Just completed it and what a let down, the crappy Matrix-style ending is probably the biggest anti-climax in video gaming history - this game has no replay value whatsoever!

Taking into account the budget involved in creating this game, you'd think they could've hired a few decent script writers; I get the impression that Drew Karpyshyn was the real brains behind the operation but cleared off during ME2, when he realised the crappy direction that the tools at the top wanted to take with this series.

ME1, Bring Down The Sky, Pinnacle station, 1.2 patch.

Downloaded Mass.Effect.DLC.Pack-SKIDROW, but Pinnacle Station fails to install. Seems it's a common issue. I absolutely can't remember what I did a few years back to make it run.

I know what you did since i posted years back on w-bb how to fix this. I made the autoload.ini file because it was missing and without it the game won't reconize the dlc.

I really think its good ending. Way better than simple "yaay we won". It feels complete and refreshing. And sad in a ... good way?

But none of your choices matter!

Mass Effect is all about how it's a space opera where you make lots of choices to build your own goody two shoes or bad ass Shepard. The endings have nothing to do with any choice you made in the game before that point. You're like busy building galactic readiness, making decisions for your space army, etc. but in the end none of them matter because the ending doesn't rely on any choice you make until that specific point where it asks you to make a choice. And Shepard is all, oh hey OK I'll do that. Not gonna asks any questions. Just pick. THE END

Seriously, anyone who actually likes the ending probably just likes all the explosions and fancy space breasts.

Also nice tits Ashley. You can tell they're obviously implants.

That tweak you posted to get the N7 armor etc. added without the F12 feature, does it work or not? I see you deleted your post about it..
