When playing correctly, you will not know what the correct time of day is
You will lose all concept of days and weeks
You will not know what season it is outside
You will not know if it is day or night

But, you'll know what level you are and what Act you are on at all times....

Preordered Collector's Edition, but holy fuck, the price is steep, I had to pay 44 bucks LESS for Witcher 2 CE which had more stuff in it.

mh not read those articles completely, but as far as i understand there will be pvp like in diablo2 from the beginning and those arenas with 2on2 duells will come later with a patch. buuuuuuuuuut as i can remember they announced those arenas for d2 too and canceled them later on. personally i dont care. diablo is pve and not pvp!

Will D3 use the stock Battlenet authenticators, or will it need its own custom one? Has Blizzard said anything about it?

You authenticate the Battle.Net account not the game itself so yes, the authenticator will be the same.

Oh, and Patch 15 this weekend...

seriously though, i hope that's not it, also grabbing a cheap key later on?

blizz has thought of that, the account will be the single least expensive thing you buy, it'll be all the $ AH or whatever other microtransaction shit they add in after release that's the real price.

It releases May 15 so how come its already uploaded to a specific russian site? im guessing no point downloading it since it can not be activated?

You can pre-load it (I posted those files - EU English and US English - earlier, but they're being posted everywhere now.) but the files (MPQE) are encrypted and when it communicates with the server (Check the log files it leaves.) the authentication request for this decryption key is sent back with the message that it's not yet released so the above "fire from the sky is still falling" message is display and the installation exists. Smile

Though it's pretty much impossible from what I know even if the MPQ files could be extracted manually Blizzard likely does not have the game servers available yet and I guess it would be a bit risky since it goes via your account due to the games online nature.

EDIT: Oh and since the files are available now no doubt there will be a day-0 launch update when it's first started to patch it up to what they've changed in these upcoming two or so months. Smile

The work on the beta likely has helped a lot but since they can't access the game files for the full version until the release date is met I would say that you are correct. Smile

(For example, although I can't quite understand if they're just debugging and decoding things for making hacks and simpler cheats or bots or if it's for emulator works.)

Of course depending on how much of the game Blizzard actually keeps server side the amount of work required for a even somewhat working emulator (More than just exploring the game world I mean.) will likely take a lot of time and effort to realize. Smile

(They do call what we have the client to the game so I guess there's a number of things they keep server side though I could be quite wrong since I've not read much about it, though even just character data and saves is probably a lot of work to emulate properly.)

EDIT: There is a interest in this though so things could go a bit faster and it's not quite a MMO like Blizzard's WoW either so a emulator is probably a more more feasible even if it's likely a lot of work, we'll see what the community comes up with, then there's the difficulty of keeping it up to date and optimized of course.

.... that's not entirely accurate....

Of course that seems to be RU language only (the EU copy is 1999RUB Laughing) but it's region free, so all you'd need are the language files.

I still would rather have the English files instead of having to download them every time I wanted to install it or keep them on my HDD.

I only buy RUS keys if they have English in them, so... Laughing But point taken.

I'm dropping around 70 pounds for the collector's edition Crying or Very sad

I'm still not sure if I will actually buy it (since the store I'm buying from charges you a week before the release) because it's damn pricy, but hell, it looks awesome, and you actually get content that no one else saw (the developer diaries)
