Wow the new build drives soooo much better than 164 (+165) and looks really great! A little too many crashes for my taste and I'd love to finally have some other cars in the game too

What about the engine sounds in this one?
Anywhere near Forza 4 (IMHO the best sounding racer)?
Don't care about graphics much, immersion and sound is my war horse
Shift 1/2 sound better than Forza 4, this is built by the same guys. If you have a good pair of headphones, or even better, a surround set - turn it up and enjoy.
Played a bit of this last week and it's SMS product #3 in a row that's just outstanding. It's still early obviously, but it has the same spine stimulating sounds as the Shift games, a ridiculous amount of attention to detail in presentation, the physics and handling are improving in leaps and yet at the same time it still has that...something which made the Shift such good racers (attention to crybabies: I said racer, not sim).
It seems they are now doing a lot of things EA wouldn't let them; they used EA to get some serious funding going, got the stunning engine up, built a pair of good games and now are sticking it into what might become one of the best sims ever.
Prerecorded samples from real individual motors / mufflers (the cards they licensed) or generic engine sounds (as in shift)?
I still find Forza somewhat better in this regard (though I doubt they've used gunuine sound recordings for each car represented)
Well for 20€ you get a 25€ discount on release, so... go for it
They are about to change the pricing model too... at least there are VERY VERY strong rumors!
All I can say it is fun to drive and the graphics are really great. Realism wise I doubt it is half as good as LFS but to be honest, I haven't had the pleasure to drive anything more realistic (never really tried rfactor or iracing though).
It is much better than shift and I guess Gran Turismo too...
