I've played it for ~30 mins, you can pick new voices or original voices every time you play the game which is nice.

I'm really enjoying it, I didn't play them the first time round. The controls are a bit clunky, haven't played a game like this for a longgg time but i'm enjoying it so far.

It seems rather unstable though, sometimes it refuses to boot and just sits on the Xbox boot screen, it took 5 attempts to load it again after I decided to quit and change voices.

DVD Method.

Played about an hour and stopped to watch some tv with the gf, still really enjoying it.

Are you meant to try and kill everything you see? Monsters take a few hits and there seem to be quite a few of them when just walking around the streets.

no, if you can skip them, do it, there is no point into killing them all.

Now I remember why I hated console gaming in the past... OMG, worst controls ever!
And the shitty camera doesn't help either. Im sure both 2nd and 3rd silent hill games where epic back in the day. its just not the same anymore Sad

The story seems pretty sweet, so ill try to finish the 2nd one and least.

Games are epic , you should play them...yes the controls are clunky and old but just give it time to adjust , and no problems later. It's worth it !

Im sure you just got stuck on Silent Hill Troll Face

seriously, its worth completing SH:D. NG3 really isn't tho... bad game with a bad ending really isn't worth playing imo.

Just tried the PS3 version of it... It's just a plain disappointement. I have finished both of these masterpiece back then on PS2, so I know what I'm talking about : the PS3 port (dunno about X360) is lame...

First of all, specially noticeable in SH3, making it unplayable, even after the 1.01 patch, the game lags like hell, one time you look at a wall it runs at 60fps, then you look at another side of the room, it runs in slow motion, matrix-like. Sometimes you run in a room, it goes fast, than slow-mo, than fast... Really weird. I remember the PS2 version was constant 30fps, no shit like that.

Second of all : the lighting is so bland. Not only it is too bright (you can make it darker in the options though), but the lighting effects were much better looking on PS2 (imagine that !)... So even if you set it to ultra dark, it won't look like the PS2 game, but only look like a dark washed up game.

3rd of all, but it only affects SH3 (thank god), the new voice acting sucks ass, really...

And finally, pre rendered cutscenes in SH2 are 4/3 stretched, so they look like shit. Blurry, stretch, terrible !

Thanks Konami, these games were a 9/10, now they are like a 2/10 just because incompetent people couldn't manage to port PS2 games on a much more powerful hardware.

Playing SH3 with a friend ( 360 version ) , we are long into the game..performance wise it's perfect but still Im not satisfied with what they've done to lighting and color saturation..

Controls are still old and clunky but overall we are really enjoying playing it..so much nostalgia. I didn't tried SH2 tho.

But they are all raping their franchises ( Konami and Capcom )...look what they've done to RE and SH in general.. Sad

it's silky smooth on 360 so i can't agree with you on performance, but you are dead right about lighting and i also have noticed that, this pic proves it further, crap... Crying or Very sad

Except the resolution, the PS2 version looks a lot better. Hell, I was saying this from my 2004 memories, and I was right, it DID look better except for the resolution obviously.

Also, in SH2, when you see the first monster in the fog, you can clearly see it in SH2 HD, while on PS2, you only see a shape (which is what the guy says when he comments about it)...

Finished SH3 , played it only once in 2003. Smile .. so this was my second playthrough. What an awesome game , pure horror...only thing that bothered me was the fog ( low density in some areas ) and some lightning ( but I got used to it , not that bad ). Performance was smooth tho , thank God for that.. Smile

9.0 / 10 from me , loved every second of it..nostalgia , even not that great HD collection can't ruin the awesomeness of this game So Much Win

SH2 , next..

So Much Win

~ 8h I think..but exploration and puzzles can take some time..depends on puzzle difficulty too. Some say when you play it for a second time and you know what to do it can be completed in 3-4h.
