For some reason they went to twitter for all the news:

We've talked about adding additional difficulty settings to #baldursgate inspired by the fan mods. I hope it fits in budget.
Our plans are to enable mods on all platforms. The tools, we're trying to stay compatible with what is out there.
We're trying to embrace the Weidu methods for mods. As we have the source code, we can make the management a little easier.
In keeping with the Baldur's Gate novels, Minsc now has a fiery head of red hair.
Gotta love what a little Open GL loving can add to a game. A touch of zoom and it makes the game feel so much better.
The zoom is controllable in game. On PC we use the mousewheel.
'You must gather your party before venturing forth' is canon man, CANON we'll try to fix the repeating, but it stays in

We are currently researching a few upscaling algorithms to try and improve the quality of the existing assets. |

It's pretty apparent that this is an iOS port, first and foremost. The PC version is just to cash in and make a few extra bucks with little effort on their part. If you plan on playing BG1 on PC, just use Tutu and the widescreen mod and you'll pretty much have exactly what they are pitching as the Enhanced Edition without the cost/hassle of having to buy/pirate it again. The EE of BG2 is likely going to be even less worthwhile, given about the only difference of note with that on PC compared to the original will be native widescreen support.
As for their "added content", they can shove that crap.

Ah, Spiderweb Software, the wanna-be RPG developer who has been making shitty games for 20 years, prides himself on being an "industry veteran", but still has the writing skills of a braindead rock.
I recently bought Avadon: The Black Fortress because I thought, hey, looks like a nice oldschool RPG, graphics don't matter and his games can't still be as abominable as they used to be. Man was I wrong. Why he has fans who keep buying his games is a mystery to me...

I'm not a fan but I liked Geneforge. No, it wasn't a abominable game.

I just read that it's coming out for Mac! http://www.baldursgate.com/news/language/en/
I look at that site and I can see it's coming out for Mac and iPad, no news item about pc, but then again who cares about those lesser computer users so theres no reason to make a big deal out of that or even announce anything on their webpage.
And it doesn't matter if someone somewhere mentioned a pc version on twitter, if I check their webpage theres no mention about a pc version

How is Beamdog acting entitled? Nintendo's policies ARE fucked up - they're a joke and a lot of developers in the industry have repeatedly complained about how restrictive Nintendo are. -- not to mention the 40MB limit on WiiWare titles, which is why WiiWare is a friggin' laughing stock.
Blame that on the ridiculous 512MB storage the Wii has. Sure you can copy files to SD and run them from there, but you can't download to SD, so it all has to go through the NAND first.

Thing is, BeamDog knew all of those things before their cocked up release of MDK2 Wii. So, yeah, they're restrictive, but saying that needing 6000 unit sales before payment is bad, I mean... You're selling a game, here. If you can't sell 6k of your title, wtf?
The 40mb limit is less of an issue, in my eyes, than a 9 month long certification process. One can be accounted for in development. The other can't. But, yeah, I suppose I was a bit too snarky.

WiiWare titles don't sell all that much and, IMO, it's unreasonable of Nintendo to withhold payment at any time - let alone saying "you must sell six thousand units before we pay you" What if MDK2-HD only sold 5000? It is, afterall, a decade+ old game that only original fans would be interested in.

If they're gonna ask for 6k sales before giving any money to the developers, they should give something in return. They should take care of marketing the games for the developers, that would be a fair trade-off. But it's not happening, they're simply asking for 6k because they know lots of games will have a hard time reaching that number and they want to keep as much money as possible.

...What.
I know a lot of people (the hump) are mad they're not openly calling the PC the most beautiful girl at the ball, but "PC-hating"? Isn't that exaggerating a bit? We're talking about developers with a service for the PC (Beamdog) and who focus on bringing back PC games. (Even more so, now that they've hired more developers from the old Bioware)
And hell, from an interview linked in this thread :
"Yes, the PC is the lead platform. We work day in and day out on the PC, so we build the content and test the content on the PC first which really keeps it front and center through our development. The other platforms are built and tested frequently, but by working on the PC it really gets the majority of our attention."
I understand when people say "I have my doubts about them, they don't talk enough about the PC" and have a cautious approach. PC gamers have been burned a lot before, they're free to have their doubts.
But saying that they hate the PC is just silly.
