Finished downloading the files last night. In total, they are 11.9 gigs. Probably because it also downloaded about 1.6 gigs of German and some other language which I didn't want to download but you couldn't tick it off, it was grayed out >.<

It would be interesting to see if the game now uses the console lighting/grading, if the new textures are as high resolution as those they replace were, and finally if there are performance improvements due to the new possibly memory friendly optimized assets (but then again if there were performance improvements wouldn't they say it?? So likely there aren't any.)

Depends on your inclinations. Iorveth's path is probably the more satisfying story path, Roache's the more...gratifying.

Wait for steam, might be a preload there too. From what I've read this is not compatible with steam.

Hmmm... DL'it now when there might be a couple of folks downloading or on the 17th when the pre-load uninformed masses rush to grab it... hmmmmm

Steam uses the same update files as I can remember... When I downloaded the Witcher 2 on steam, I found "update" files in the main directory, aside from the base game.
But I'll hold on for now, I don't want to download 10 gigs which is going to be replaced with enhanced edition's new file format.

I've just realized the pre-downloader doesn't allow resuming. 7 GB thrown into the bin, I have to start again from scratch

Thanks, seems to be working now.  Somehow it didn't like the fact that I changed the default download path, moving the downloaded files to C:\Downloads fixed it

so is this a real and final patch ( apart setup file which is on 17th, or its more like full game download, and actual patch will be much smaller, i frankly cba deleting stuff in my download hdds to make space.
