Exactly. Retail != Steam and that email ^^ specifically mentions Steam. So does the issue apply to all copies of the game?

Ya,the issue exists in the SKIDROW version.
Played it for a bit and encountered the door bug. Checked youtube for level 1 gameplay to verify...

Waiting for a proper release. The game is actually quite fun,might have to buy this. Smile

Also, it seems I found the bug mentioned. At least I think that's it. I can't pass a door because it closes as soon as I open it. One thin I'll like to say: I'm suprised how good are the mouse & keyboard controls. One would think this game is best played with a gamepad, but I can't see why anyone would like to use that in this game. The controls are very responsive, there's no mouse smoothing or stuff like that. Also, the game runs at an almost constant 120 fps. As for the looks of the game. It has the potential to look really nice, but they used way too much post-processing crap, especially bloom. This was the reason why I instantly went and configured the FXAA injector for it. I can't see a way to turn that off, but there's the settings.blk file from the game's dir in which the settings are stored (I think they're the default ones though).

The bug is definitely there. Can't progress. And it runs surprisingly well on my 2600XT at 1680x1050.

Initially, it was ixigia's, but that didn't do much for this game, so I tweaked it further.

Game is fun and the Injector makes a big difference thank you, I have noticed that mouse invert is not working which is a shame, will start looking for a fix for that.

It's a bug in the game code since it's (Supposedly.) a earlier build of the game than what was intended for release, don't think there's any way around that short of using a trainer. Smile
(Teleport / ghost trough the door object.)

The bug seems to be fixed now, got my key again and it seems to download just fine, will have to compare and see what differs.
(But I guess the tweaks and debug stuff I encountered will be removed.)

Yes you are indeed correct mate, however the really crappy games were maybe 2 in 10 but in the last 5 years or so its been 9 in 10.

If you liked X-Blades (I did, though many didn't like it at all.) this is basically more of the same in terms of gameplay albeit with updated visuals and what seems to be a entirely separate story.
(With some tweaks and refinements here and there.)

Hmm ... never played X-Blades. What kind of RPG elements are there in the game? Can you roughly compare it to Darksiders or DMC or Batman:AC?

It has several similarities to Devil May Cry albeit it's not quite as stylish or extreme in it's execution and script or how to best describe it.

You collect energy from fallen enemies and use them to upgrade your character with new abilities, stages are also rather linear but pretty big and there's some amount of platforming, combat does have a few different attacks and special abilities but is otherwise quite simple, can also find a variety of items to equip which gives different bonuses.

Voice acting is pretty weak in my opinion but it works and the script or story is pretty basic so far but I guess calling the area "Dragonland" sort-of gives that away really quick during the intro cinematic. Razz
(Plus the other events happening there.)

EDIT: Right there is some puzzle solving too but again it's often very simple.
