Anyone got this and can tell me if it's worth to buy, because i really like the thing so far, but the price tag is a tad high, so i need to know if it's worth it's money.

with a sweet design like that corded just doesn't make much sense.
typically i find them insanely pointless too if you just use vent and setup the volume threshold to enable correctly, who needs PTT? hell.. i don't even have a clue where the mic i typically use on vent is, but.... i know it's there somewhere and it picks up my voice just fine, no reason to have a headset.
i will say it looks like it might not be comfortable on your ears though, the padding is very narrow and it looks like it wouldn't stop the speaker from pushing against your ear, but it's not easy to tell without trying it on.
i have this one for like 8 years now lol. It barely works but considering the price (20€ ish) it still amazes me
Logitech in general (i have speakers, keyboard and that headset from them) have an extreme long life span. Which is what im most looking for in these kinda products.
Btw, i only use the mic from the headset and use the speakers normally, since i cant be arsed to switch the jack everytime ^^ (only have the rear plugins, no front or anything on my tower hehe)
For me it was, it helped me so much in MW2 compared to my old headset.
I can fully hear in all directions (so sound from behind, does really sound as it is comming from behind and so on), it's kinda hard to explain, you need to hear it for yourself to be convinced.

yeah he's right garus, not all games take advantage of or even cooperate with 5.1, but ones that do.... seriously i've freaked myself out with 5.1 speakers playing some GTA style game cause i kept thinking the sirens were behind me instead of coming from the computer and thought they were outside.
Speakers aren't the same as headsets. 5.1 headsets are a waste of money because even though there are different speakers, the distance to your ear is not big enough for it to be 100% effective; properly recorded stereo audio () or an emulation of that (such as Creative's CMSS) works better. And yes, CMSS does work and it does make a difference

really? i always assumed they'd figured out how to make the effect at least half as good, i kinda assumed it wasn't the same as using a properly positioned good set of 5.1 speakers though.
wow, nevermind, you can really tell listening to that demonstration with a 5.1 speaker setup, even when he mentions sound behind you it never goes farther than directly from the sides.
personally, i use the 1 satellite above (0 angle) and behind the monitor center, L/R satellites on either side of the screen (15 angle inwards on each) and two rear L/R satellites placed directly at either side of your ears (45 degree angle, inwards) setup, plus creative's virtual speaker positioning software to fine tune and the sound can pretty much run the full circle of where it's source comes from, i'd say about 325 degrees total arc possible, directly behind the head is always a bit iffy without a 6.1.

Not 100% effective, but still better IMO then stereo.
For me, personally, they gave me a massive advantage when playing FPS games.

Same here, even if mine is emulated 7.1 it still cake for me.... ^_^
Logitech G35 btw. D:
You guys really never heard that clip? This is the best known one, but there's tons like this
They do it by recording from 2 sides on a dummy's head; essentially simulating your ears
Basically though, what CMSS and similar algorithms do is simulate that by taking a surround signal and tweaking the amplitude/phase on each channel so that it gets close to how it would sound in real life. A 5.1 headset will never get that properly, because the sound is pumped into your ear from point blank range; sound from behind you will always be distorted somewhat, quieter, muffled by the shape of your ear etc. A headset doesn't get that right. None of the ones I've tried (Razer Barracuda+Chimaera and that Turtle Beach piece of crap) work as well as CMSS does with my Sennheisers anyway.
yeah i agree, saus has never heard CMSS, either that or he just don't care that much, i love it frankly, i just wish so many games didn't ignore 5.1 audio support.
as far as the recording? nope, i do the same thing with part of creatives drivers and lot less pointless theatrics when i calibrate the distance, angle and all that the speakers sit at from the listener, it's just a lady's voice(or static, if you prefer) saying "front right" "rear right" etc.
i'm kinda pissed off i couldn't find a good 5.1 encoded clip honestly, as far as i'm concerned there was no behind with the headphones demonstration, zero at all, was pretty underwhelmed and i've listened to similar ones before.
I used CMSS on my old Audigy2 and it was awesome....
Best soundcard I have ever owned (which isn't saying alot since before that I only had a regular SB card and now an onboard one).

Saus obviously has never tried CMSS or similar
I have an X-fi Xtreme Music and never knew I had this option. Luckily this CMSS mode was always on so I don't know better or worse

Set every game that supports it to 5.1 output then. CMSS should pick it up and convert it to a 2.0 signal for your headphones (assuming you left jack detection and automatic mode switching on).
