This is how I see my future computing. Easy to set up; underlying architecture is never at risk; guest machines are always isolated; several guest machines run independently; Guest machine states are a step away from restore; etc. VTd makes it 80% toward that goal.

Do you experience problems like that driver problem that you've mentioned that frequently that you need to have a system set up like that?

No, but since all this can be made transparent, this sounds to me like the perfect computing world I want to have. Never fear virii, never fear malware. Downloaded that risky shit EXE? No worries, just make a snapshot before running it. It means I can live worry free. And since guest machines have direct access to the hardware, I don't have to fear some rogue software that might somehow jailbreak its way outside of the guest machine. It also gives me the option to run several machines at native speed with no need for mutli-boot. Just suspend one machine and run the other.

jesus christ, you guys think i'm serious on the silliest things, but it is sort of 50/50 with ebay, i personally won't buy from them, but.... in theory there's real reason not to, there is the fact that it basically invented a new way to e-scam though.
as for the oddball memory amount... i don't know, it's a minor niggle at most honestly but... it just seems like it could be a red flag when you see non-whole GB numbers like that, i admit it probably won't matter though.

The only thing that worries me is DOA.
Took a risk, let's see.

295 is a 280 SLI? It could be better in certain games but not in most, and certainly not in most new games until SLI profiles come up. FUCK THAT SHIT!

But Sabon's 2500 is better at gaming than your CPU, so he probably does get better FPS.

I didn't take into account any AMD products and just went for the superior nVidia hardware instead without giving it a thought.

What Derprin also failed to see was that the 295 in the Tom's benchmark (HWCompare... trolol) is running DX10 mode. The 570? DX11+Tessellation. 570 is doing significantly more work than the 295 and *still* higher framerate. Add that to the derpy, unfounded and unsubstantiated claim of "I got +15fps more"
... well... chortle. Oh well, delusions are strong and often hard to break I don't really care, I just found it a funny claim. I'm just glad I can run Risen 2 |
You might be correct, as I've said, I based my argument on my past experience with both cards, with my i7 920 CPU, but even considering the benchmarks you posted, the GTX 570 is only slightly faster than the GTX 295, not an astronomically significant difference.
There's a greater difference between the GTX 570 and GTX 590 than between the GTX 295 and the GTX 570.
