Hope its good 3 was one of only a handful of games I've ever completed

if thats true then we can only hope its based on the battle where he called for his power etc, i guess that could work.
I'd rather it be more like he gets the power of the titans this time round as in the picture above he's in a similar stance to when a titan is holding something up, and ascension kinda means going upwards? (to heaven, etc)

i own a ps3 and i played gow 3, 2, and 1 and they're just simple minded button mashers. What's the point of a game where you can beat it by pressing one button throughout?

My bad then, I'm really surprised one can't like GoW at all. I can understand it's not a game for everyone though... Loved them in my case, even the GoW 1 & 2 HD "remasters" on PS3, so i'm excited for this one
Still I think for a button masher, the story is elaborated, it's the greek mythology, and for these games, it's definitely a plus. It beats any story a game like Devil May Cry had for instance. Also, there are multiple ways of attacking, not only one ! And I thought the gameplay was a little different than standard beat'em all, you have multiple weapons, which are differents, you have nice items like Icarus wings, or the boots...
I guess you don't like beat'em all rather than GoW itself

Yeah, can't speak for GoW3 but on 1 and 2 you can not get very far if you don't know what you're doing, on normal diff. On Hard/Godlike you need to know what you're doing just so survive, so it's by far a "mindless button masher".
Having said that, this series dried out for me after GoW 2. And after GoW3 I just can't stand Kratos anymore.

Could be a nice change of pace it you played him BEFORE he got his powers from Ares.

Every game in the GoW series, not every game in the genre.
As I said dmc3 vanilla us version (ie. not special edition),
it is one of the hardest games of the last gen among shinobi (ninja gaiden 1 on xbox doesnt even reach this category).

the God of War eerie has puzzles though, so it's not a mindless button smasher... Sure it's not Tomb Raider material, but it's still makes your brain think a little.
