My dad's phone had been stolen couple of days ago.
Its not rooted HTC Wildfire with froyo.
Any means of tracking it somehow...?
Fuck I have to write down mac address of my desire Z in case someone steals it.

Well tell them what the phone number is and they might know which phone has been used to make the calls. I guess the imei is being send over gsm/whatever.

I already blocked that sim card with my provider, the day dad's wildfire has been stolen.
The thief took it out anyway and proboably formatted it. But now that I have that imei I might somehow track the fucker

That phone has been probably in 2-3 owners by now..
Thief sold it to Pawn Shop, owner of the Pawn Shop sold it to some guy that gave it to his daughter for her birthday but since she did not like and was unable to return it to Pawn Shop, He decide it to sold it on Allegro to a guy who lives 500KM away from him.

Just as iNatan pointed out. There is probably a law prohibiting phone company from giving such a information to a customer..unless Police will come in with a warrant
but most likely police will not do anything
gasp, dont you people watch CSI or Law and Order?

Doesn't HTC have some sort of remote lockdown availability?
I think I remember they introduced it some time ago.
