This mod definitely interests me, I've watched quite a few videos so got the general gist of it but here's a few questions (I'd have to buy ARMA2 as I don't own it, nor have I ever played it so I'm a complete noob at that game as well):
Can you loot player corpses once they drop and is all of their loot available for you to take then? I assume this is the case from the videos I've watched but hard to tell.
1.Do zombies drop loot or are all of them empty?
2.Do player corpses turn into zombies or how does the zombie population work? Do they spawn in fixed times based on how many players there are on the server?
3.Do you regen HP by consuming food, and stop loosing HP by using bandages and such?
4.If I leave a server in X position, and enter another server will I still be at X position or will I be at another place?
5.Is there a lot of loot to be found or is it very few places?
6.Is it VERY buggy and glitchy or is it quite stable for its early version (assuming you find a good server)?
And most importantly, do you guys think this mod will continue being updated for a long time? It seems to be very popular, outgrowing server spaces and all so I assume the best.
I'm quite tight with cash right now having spent a bit on the D3 collectors edition and a bit of furnitures so I'm being quite careful with money.
1. Some drop loot, though that is mostly canned food from my limited experience.
2. I'm not quite sure how the zombie population works to be honest, but I guess it's based upon the amount of people on the server that is acting like a multiplier.
3. Basically, your HP is called blood, and the only way to regen that is either through transfusion, eating canned food or eating cooked meat that you can acquire by hunting animals in the northern part of the playfield.
4. Yes, you will stay where you logged out.
5. There's loot to be found, you just gotta know where to look!
6. It's not that bad, there are some obvious flaws like some zombies rivaling the speed of Usain Bolt, as an example, there are some servers that are unstable but that's not really the mods fault.

- edit - Some also drop military hardware, like guns and ammo, bags, tents etc.
2. I'm not quite sure how the zombie population works to be honest, but I guess it's based upon the amount of people on the server that is acting like a multiplier.
- edit - Correct, Zombies spawn in the area you are playing, if you leave the zombies despawn, this is only an alpha restriction, rocket aims to have wondering hordes

- edit -good weapons and shite appear in the northern/military air fields and deer huts, decentish weapons in barns/shops etc

- edit - This is probably as you say unstable server/desynch issue with the client. Regular re connections alleviate this a lot! or playing in a group tends to help for some reason, maybe the amount of updates the server is having to handle?
Made some edits
Rocket is actually part of BIStudios (The developers of Arma) so in all likelihood this will be incorporated full time.
After all this mod alone has pushed ARMA2 to position 8 on the steam top sellers list, BIS must know it's making them money and I'm sure they'd want to see that trend continue!
Same, I'm hoping that they will rework the extremely clunky movement, some finer visuals would be great as well, which you can see in a certain ARMA3 video.
Reminds me the first time I played the mod, climbed up a crane and as soon as I got to the top I fell down and died... because I didn't have a primary weapon armed.
That was a disaster
Disconnection and loading all the time.
But game looks interesting. Captures the "don't trust anyone" isolated feel

Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
So basically you mostly die by players? Since from the video posted in the first page, zombies do very little damage, more importantly there seems to be very little zombies to actually encounter.
One more thing, does anyone have any other interesting video links regarding this mod?
This mod is great fun. My char right now has 44 zombie kills. Servers are crazy full and with yesterday's update that just complicated things even further. The mod needs a whole lot of improving and tweaking.
I wish they'd add loot to cars and outdoor locations, too. Idea: see that can of food on the passenger seat? Gotta break the glass & attract the zombies! The game does need something to facilitate some degree of trust of players. They said they are working on that.. Also I don't like how the zombies run *sometimes*. It looks too jerky and its nearly impossible to hit them when they stutter or jerk like that. It's just an alpha, and already tons of fun.
Alright so players kill me on sight now. I shoot one that points his gun at me and I become a bandit. Later I was sniped through a window from a long distance. I just played for five hours and died four times from players, zero from zombies. So is this game now a kill people on sight game or what?
I watched a guy in a barn from the door for about three minutes as he gathers loot. He sees me, immediately opens fire, we then have a shootout. I flank him and kill him. His reaction was immediate - shoot other players on sight??
Are there AI survivors? I was killed twice by some masked guy, not the player model I have and seen in other videos.
Nope masked guys are bandits.
Last night i got killed in the north by one. Gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing he has been camping there on a rock in the woods for hours just for that one kill
Fight for survival is hard.
When you don't have rules, is what it happens. Some will easily adopt the "shot on sight" motto.
Well also I think the community is going to mature and the shoot-on-sight mentality will wane, some.
I had a good encounter with a bandit. I ran near him not knowing he was there. He raised his rifle but didn't shoot at me. I had NO ammunition in my pistol. He didn't seem inclined to shoot me. But I had been running from zeds and they caught up with us. I had been hoping he would take them out. He didn't see them and was looking in my direction. I warned him over direct communication. Too late the zombie came up to him from behind and hit him once and the bandit fell to the ground. LOL Another came up and they started feeding on him while he was alive. I tried to bandage and get him back up but it was to no avail. I took his rifle while the zeds fed on him. Ran a few yards back and opened fire on the first, killing it. The second zed got up and started coming towards me. I shot him. Dead. Looted the bandit's corpse. He never came back for his stuff. He also had a toolkit, knife, lots of beans, bandages, drugs, etc... Now that was epic.
I need to do that again. From know on... Can't find that bandit? Bring a horde of zombies onto him.

This game is FULL of moments like this, I get lost in the environment, I've been playing for 8hrs straight and just got killed by a group of bandits.
Me and my friends stormed the airfield and set up perimeter and a "Trading" station - it was amazing atmosphere, a bandit appeared and we all reacted - took him out, 20m later a bus rams through us and about 10 bandits pour out of it and decimate us survivors.
I've never had that kind of heart-hammering excitement from a game - ever.
