What's up with that? I never had the beta installed, this is my first time installing anything D3 related.
And I'd really rather not install it on my C: drive, that's my system SSD. |
Got enough free space there ? |
Yes. I'm trying to install to B: which has 1.25 TB of free space...

Dunno, I spitted on the usage of cutscenes instead of the moody narrated comics I loved from the predecessors.

nothing strange. A: and B: are Floppy/CD-Drives letters and i guess the installer doesnt like that.
First time i heard someone use A: or B: for their HD's lol.

Yay I guess ? Guess you guys didn't want 1080p cinematics after all ! If so, not to worry then, Max Payne 3 BIK will look amazing on your PC ! |
Your argument is invalid since mp3 uses in-game-engine "cinematics" whereas d3 is cgi. Also d3's cgi is better than anything on the market.
Try again failtroll.

B: is no longer reserved for those antiquated devices. Hasn't been for ages.
Never had a problem installing anything to B: on Win7 or XP, whether the installer used was brand-new or from an older game.

Nothing ever complained before. One advantage of Win7, you no longer have to deal with those outdated drive letter restrictions.

Oh and because D3 uses CGI then it has the right to use a shitty resolution ?

Dont want to join this useless conversation, you both are right in some ways, but.
Even if you wanted bigger X*Y ressolution you really dont want to download 60gb Diablo 3 now do you ? The bigger the Ressolution get, the bigger the client get too, i dont think they want to make another 40gb WoW game...
CGI =/= quality, just more money.

The game is just 7.5GB you know... I doubt making 6 CGIs in 1080p would bring it to 60GB would it ?

I didn't say it was reserved NOW, I said it USED to be that you need to manually assign A or B via CP otherwise Windows starts from C onwards. But hey... you know it all, so fix your error yourself |
You also said one had to go through hoops , which is simply wrong. No need to get your panties in a bunch...
I'm trying to get this to work and I appreciate input, but your advice was, quite simply, not helpful and pretty much based on conjecture.

With some bad encoding ? Unencoded FULL HD ressolution vids of few minutes takes more than 30GB, wanna make 100 cgis unencoded ? Fuck no. Encoding it reduce quality, if you really wanted a FULL HD CGI with a good size, it will look so shit, you will pray for lower rez.
I dont really mind downloading some HIGH REZ CGI Pack, but as for a normal customer (Average Joe), theres no difference if its upscaled, and takes 1/20 of the filesize.

just temp change the letter to another one (not a: obviously), and after install change it back.
is a 1 min issue.
at least you will know if that is the problem.

No, just tired of trying to help people who have nothing better to do than flop their cock out and whap me in the face. It happens with sickening frequency around here, so I'm quite simply done helping.

wow/sc 2 are both portable clients, d3 is probably the same. can be freely moved where ever you want.

BTW for people that are still downloading the game and getting shitty speeds, make sure you disable the P2P feature in the Installer options, and say hi to max speed
