ah nice , was able to login.
If you see "level 0 unknown" , dont worry, hero is there and you can start game normally. Just the avatar in selection seems missing.

Ubisoft introduces always-online DRM, people shit bricks, name it "worst company in the world", claim to never buy their products again, after they have problems because of DDOS attack on their servers they receive even more shitstorm here, they give a free game of your choice to redeem themselves- still bad.
Blizzard, a company running ~10 mln user MMO, encounters HUGE problems at launch (even Ubi DRM wasn't this bad), what's the Nfohump reaction? "Stop whining".
I love the double standards.

Pftt don't generalize , I still believe the online-only is hilariously ridiculous and I see the whole launch as a failure of enormous proportions

Has to do with the agent.exe, you have to mess around with it and close via taskmanager... really pain in the ass, but i manage to (somehow) get it fixed.

I bought the fucking game and I'm pissed as hell You'll never hear me say "Stop whining" -- I think what Blizzard are doing is fucking downright disgraceful and should have had the foresight to run many more servers/shards before launch.
The only reason I'm not fuming right now is because I'm busy with other stuff, else I'd be spitting about it.

+Infinity. If there's something that truly gets to me in this world, it's double standards.
I could commit murder on double standard grounds.

EU and americas don't connect. Asia connected from the first. If only I could load my characters in another region..

Anyone saying it's "understandable" that Blizzard can't deal with this needs to get the fuck out of here
When I still played WoW, everything died with every single patch. Moreover, on particularly busy nights on the servers that weren't empty to begin with, you'd sit there with a nice second of delay between everything.
By the looks of it, they still haven't figured out that you need more than a handful of servers; preferably not in fucking France either, because like I said before they have the worst uplinks to the rest of Europe. Even for connections to Italy or Greece, it's more beneficial to have to go from Amsterdam or Frankfurt rather than Paris. Not only are the uplinks terrible, the actual routing is just as bad, which makes matters worse.
Next, considering the relatively small part of this game that has to go online, it's not hard to set up a fucking cloud that scales when necessary. And I do know, I've done it. Mind you, the login requests are most likely not even a KB large, but just for the hell of it, let's assume they are 5KB. Taking some overhead into account as well as some delays, a simple 4GB dual core server on a 100 MBit (!) connection can handle 1000 of those connections per second with ease. Again, I've done it - in fact, I've had a server deal with ~3000 connections per minute on 4 cores and 8 gigs, with much bigger requests. I obviously don't know how big their overhead is, but I wouldn't be surprised if their login process is a simple HTTP(S) request. The costs involved for this shit are a fucking joke compared to their income as well.
I'm gonna love the game, but Blizzard have a knack for hiring completely incompetent cunts to handle anything outside their actual games, especially for Europe.
Oh and it looks like the EU support staff is still the same bunch of lazy retards as well, judging by the forums? I see some familiar nicknames and a distinct lack of updates - of the last 3 "blue" posts only 1 is remotely related to the issues going on and they're all more than 6 hours old? Fuck off please

Does ctrl-v work for you then? It doesn't for me, I have to type the pass - if I ctrl-v it says "account info is invalid" or some such.

I wasn't that impressed with the graphics when I played the open beta weekend. I somewhat expected more considering the production values/resources of Blizzard.
In fact, in some areas, Path of Exile actually looks better. The actual character animations and fluidity is better in Diablo 3 though.
