I know of course, but a little bit more effort into the campaign would've been appreciated. I like the way it's done, a huge tutorial which eases you into things.

Anno 2070 expansion Deep Ocean announced

Quote:
UbiSoft has announced a new expansion for their futuristic trade sim Anno 2070, Deep Ocean. The expansion will be released this upcoming Fall 2012.

The expansion will include a new civ level called the Tech faction, which is expanded by the Genius population class. The new Genius class adds the Tech Monument, new corresponding production chains and consumption goods. The class also adds new vehicles and items, unlocking new resources.

Deep Ocean will also allow players to acquire enemy territories without using military force using the new Hostile Takeover feature. The new underwater geothermal power plant will provide a new source of energy, while islands will be able to supply each other with an energy transfer, along with other underwater trade routes.

Of course, the sea-focused expansion will also include a new disaster in the form of a devastating giant tsunami.

The game will add over 150 new challenging quests, unlock over 30 new achievements, and add a new leaderboard feature.

Thanks for the info. I was about to ask the same thing (about the patches Very Happy).

Time to start a new playthrough then (never 100% finished the first one). It's a shame that it's plagued by the UbiDRM, this game is damn great and would be a must-buy.

Installed it and it updated to 2.0.0.7 or some such, then it ran autopatcher.exe which promptly installed 1.6.x again thus invalidating the entire thing, odd but also a bit funny. Very Happy

Yeah the AutoPatcher.exe was never updated during the first time I installed the addon (I checked again after writing the above and noticed this.) thus since it is started before the game is it validated and re-downloaded the changed files from the current available update which reverted them back to 1.6, I fixed it by switching the auto update file manually. Question: does the expansion improves the offline mode? From what I remember, the base Anno 2070 had various options locked when the game was played offline, such as preventing us from buying from the mothership (or what it is called). Does anyone knows if this is resolved or if it stays the same?

This was the main reason I never got into it, so if such behavior by the game was modified, I would give it another shot.

Any idea if the ANNO dlc and expansion pack from steam works with my pure UPlay version of the Anno base game?

Got it for 5€ a while back from getgames.
